Hey where is everyone? I mean it's almost 9pm my time and there is no thread started. We can't fall apart this quickly - what would Sweetpea think?

OK to catch you up on my activities.
Thursday - PT, it went great although my single leg 4-square is less than gracefull and he wanted me doing lunge jumps on a 10" platform!!! (I've been using 8 at home and thinking I was doing good  )

Friday - Cinco de Mayo and dinner out (2 light beers and fried ice cream) Let's just say fitday let me know just how bad that was

Saturday - I wanted to make up for Friday so I did the 45 minute speed interval program on the treadmill and one of Cathe's stretches.

Sunday - was 1 hour of lifting weights and leg exercises. I then hustled to get outside and we took the girls for a wagon ride. They did very well and we tried out the new wagon. What a difference springs make!! Then when we got back we took the dogs for about a mile walk. I was fighting the whole time to keep the blind dog from falling down the enbankment into the drainage ditch. Gee just cause you can't see is no reason you should slow down :p

Today - well my backside was sore all day today. I did the 45 minute weight loss program on the treadmill tonight and followed that with another Cathe stretch.

So where is everyone...hello...I do think I hear an echo ;)

Work is kind of crazy-busy (and I sit open sided next to my boss, so I try not to spend TOO much time on the net ;)) lately, but here goes!! :)

We've been spending every spare minute working on our house. This weekend, I scraped and painted the front door, side-views and trim then took care of the mailbox. I also scraped and painted the railing around the porch. Shew! Add to that, I pressure washed the porch, stairs, driveway, and sidewalk. Then, Gavin and I took a trip to the nursery and picked out hanging baskets and annuals to pretty up the place. DH is in the process of building new doors for the shed, so that's taking up most of his time. He did pressure wash the deck to make it all nice and pretty. We've made probably 1/2 a dozen trips to the storage unit to clear out a lot of our extra stuff from the garage, laundry room, and rest of the house. Last night while DH was working on the shed, I mowed the lawn, trimmed all the bushes around the house, and trimmed up our abundant phlox and made it look phenomenal! I'll post a picture once I get my big pot filled with annuals. :p Tonight will be painting of the shed and planting of all my pretty flowers. After that, it's supposed to rain and we'll move inside to do more work. Fun stuff! Needless to say, the realtors have been impressed with how "motivated" we are to get things done.

engineer, how are you feeling today? Still sore? Did the girls enjoy their outing?

Where are the rest of you?? Nancy, I know I've seen you out there on the BB... Carrie? Charisse? Joanne?

I just felt funny starting the thread since I was so absent from it last week. I'm glad engineer took the lead.

I finished up house/dogsitting on Sunday morning - two weeks is far too long to spend in someone else's home. I also managed to somehow break my parent's lawnmower while I was there - it makes sparks now! :D

Sunday I mowed my lawn, turned over the gardens and scrubbed a few floors. I also fit in Kathy Smith's Lift Weights to Lose Weight II. I swear that she has some of the best butt exercises on there, because I always feel it the next day. Yesterday I took a short slow walk in the morning and last night was dog school. This morning I did a relatively slow 2 miles with Weston. I have to go to an awards dinner for the boss tonight - I'm going to skip out of work early and do MuscleMax first.

I have decided that it isn't my Achilles after all. I am pretty sure I just bruised something back there. I'm going by the theory that if it doesn't hurt I'm not doing any damage.

Engineer - Congratulations on getting some springs on that wagon - I bet it is far more comfortable now. Sounds like the end of last week went pretty well for you.

Emily - When are you hoping to get your house on the market? My parents are doing theirs right now and it is a lot of work. I'm sure you feel it at the end of the day.

Here's a question for everyone -
How often and for how long do you stretch each week? Do you do a dvd/video, or do you just do it on your own?

Where are the rest of you?? Nancy, I know I've seen you out there on the BB... Ha! I've been out there, just felt akward like Carrie to start this thread. I've been a little...lazy per say ;). PLUS, work has been hectic still. Let's see...Friday was a surprise party and another Cinco party. Tons of glutony and no walking that day. Saturday was recovery and my GF's DS's first birthday party. Sunday I did bust my butt around the house, cleaning and such. Yesterday was a powerwalk. Today the plan is my lunch walk and uppers/abs/back tonight. I MUST stick with my weights...If you don't use it, you lose it!! :p

Michelle, sounds like you've more than made up for your fried icecream. I haven't had that in forever, BTW, and now I want some too! Sounds like Ross is pushing you in a good way. Keep it up!

Emily, Holy moly! You've been a crazy lady with home repairs! Gold star for you! Isn't it amazing how you can get motivated over night, yet before had put it off - that's the story of my life. Congrats on your sister's weight loss! Apparently you've been quite the motivator!

Carrie, to answer you stretching question....I only do a true stretch after walking or working out. :o I know I should incorporate it in as a routine - I'm just lazy. Yay for dog sitting to be over with! ANd Kudos to you for squeezing in a workout before dinner!

Hi all! I've been working out; just not much time to stop by here!

Engineer, sounds like your recovery is going great if you're able to do the speed intervals on the treadmill and all those weights. How long before you're cleared to do your videos again? :)

Emily, wow, lots of work on your house! Are you selling? I might have missed your post about it. That's quite a workout on its own!

Carrie, I do way less stretching than I should. Actually hardly any at all. Sometimes I'll do whatever is at the end of a DVD, but more times than not I'll skip it so I can hurry up and get in the shower and get ready for work and the kids ready for school. I know I really should probably do some stretching every week, but I when I have the time I'd rather do cardio or weights; I feel like it's more productive. Which is probably why I can barely touch my toes! :o

Nancy, sounds like you've been having fun! ;) And, you did get some walks in!

Let's see, what have I done in terms of workouts? I can't remember what I did Friday, maybe a step tape? Saturday I did Jari Love's Slim and Lean again. I love that DVD!! I don't mean to enable anyone, but I think it's only $14.95 at Collage and it's a great weights endurance workout. I took off Sunday. Yesterday I did Rock, Steady, Step and today I tried to do Mindy's Boot Camp. I just wasn't into it and I kept getting interrupted by the dog and Caitlyn! I did manage to do the first section with the medicine ball and then skipped to the kickboxing section which was really fun. Then I did the tubing section of Mindy's All About Legs DVD. If I have the energy I want to try to do Jari Love's DVD again tonight.

Well today was leg exercises per the PT. I don't know I've been sore all day back and legs and it was tough doing them tonight but I went for an hour and covered all the basics between today and sunday so I feel good about that.

Joanne - Like all programs on the treadmill it's got various levels and I only was on level 3 which max speed is 3.2 mph. And that was fast enough. I tried a short jog on Sunday with the dogs and my knee still won't take it but it's doing better and I'm sure I'll get there soon.

Nancy - Wow what a weekend! Party central in your neck of the woods. That's cool, DH and I are social misfits/outcasts so we don't get invited to many. And you're right if you don't use it you lose it ... and it's a painful realization.

Carrie - Gee if you lived closer I'd enlist you to puppy sit for us, we need to come up with someone ASAP as we have to get the girls to ID. There's a beautiful stallion that DH wants to have the girls bred to and with gestation being 11 months we have to do it quickly so the babes will be big enough to take winter. As for stretching, I don't do enough of it but I always try to do some after treadmill. I have two different stretching tapes 1 firm and 1 Cathe and the routines are between 10 and 15 minutes. Oh and we got a new wagon, kind of fancy one. We also still have the old farm style wagon with only a little spring on the seat...ouch!

Emily - With all the work you and DH are doing, are you gonna wanna move?? It sounds like it's really coming together. Yippee then for a quick sale at above asking price and your all set right?

Hang in there ladies - tomorrow is hump day.

I left work early yesterday because I had so much to do...and I ended up falling asleep until it was time to get ready for the dinner! :o I promise to make up for it today. I've already scrubbed the bathroom and carried a bunch of furniture out of the house for a house sale. I am going to do weights tonight. I promise. I'll come on after I finish and do personals then.

Engineer, sounds like your recovery is slow but steady. I'm sure your determination to do your exercises and take it easy with stuff you're not supposed to do has helped tremendously.

Carrie, scrubbing the bathroom and carrying furniture counts as a workout! Good luck with your sale.

Last night I was so tired but I wanted to get in a weight workout. I did Jari Love's Slim and Lean again before I went to bed. It was nice because both the dog and Caitlyn stayed asleep the whole time. :) That usually isn't the case in the morning. I wanted to do some cardio today since my eating hasn't been so good  , so I did a new DVD from Kimberly Spreen that's a combination of hi/lo and kickboxing. It was good workout and really simple choreography.

That's it for now. I'll be at home Thursday and Friday cleaning and getting ready for my son's communion and party Saturday.

Hump day is here!! Why isn't it Friday yet? The days have seemed so long. Last night a did a little arm/ab work, but nothing like i should have. Squeezed in my walk at lunch. Tonight I'm making empanadas for our Mexican themed supper club tomorrow, so who knows if I'll be able to squeeze in anything...

Engineer - Ha! I'm not as popular as I sound, everyone just likes my cookin' ;). Keep up on your PT; you'll be back to new before you know it. But remember to take it easy, healing is a slow process...

Carrie - Get that video in....now! ;) You sound like you've been so busy that I suppose we can forgive you. Are you trying to lighten your load for the big move by having a sale? Lord knows i have a garage full of stuff that needs to be sold. Too bad you weren't closer...:)

Joanne - I was laughing to myself when I read your post about Tully and Caitlyn always waking up during your workouts. I know exactly what you mean. While the boys are napping on the weekends, I always have something that needs to be done, and it's inevitable that they wake up before I finished. Your DVD sounds like lots of fun! I really must invest in some...

Emily? Charisse?

I'm back! :D I did my dvd. All four parts, all exercises. I wasn't going to bother because it was 8:30 by the time I finished up all my house/yardwork, but once again you ladies motivated me. This evening I also transferred the compost pile back into the garden and tore my car door apart. The lock on the driver's side door has been broken for about a year now, and the day I decide to fix it the lock on the passenger's side goes too.

Michelle - Great job with your leg exercises. It's hard to do what the PT tells you, but I know from experience that when you don't do it you just don't get better. That new wagon sounds great - I always loved going driving classes at the state fair.

Joanne - It sounds like I stretch like you do. I really should do a better job, and I don't have anything in my life so pressing that I couldn't devote 15 minutes a day to it. Good work with the weights last night, must have been nice not to be interrupted.

Nancy - At least Wednesday is over. I am lucky because my parents are moving and having an estate sale. So I just hauled all my stuff over there and someone else is going to sell it for me! It's weird though because I have gotten rid of all nonessentials, but don't leave until the middle of September. Have fun at your supper club.

Ok guys, 2 more days! Let's wrap this week up strong and make Amanda proud.

Awfully quiet around here.... just squeezed in my power walk! :D :p

Wow - what happened? We started the week with a little steam and now it's all gone. Oh well last night I just did a sauna when we got home to prepare me for PT today. PT went good I'm really upping the weight for the lower body work. My jumping/plyo/fast muscle twitch exercises are progressing nearly as quickly but there is improvement :D When we got home tonight I got in the sauna again as I'd tweaked the knee just a bit on some single leg hopping exercises he has me doing but it's not bad just a little twinge. No workout for me tomorrow as I'm going to get my hair cut. (the girls are getting the hooves trimmed so I might as well go) Oh and the big news is that we are heading to ID on Wednesday to take the girls out to meet their gigalo ;) So hopefully by this time next year we have a couple of horsey babes around here.

Nancy - good job on getting in that power walk! How did the supper club go? Any wonderful new recipes you found?

Carrie - Yeoza! Workout, moving compost pile and still having enough energy to face the car door. You deserve a big ol' halo for all of that.

Joanne - good job on getting that workout in and not getting 'help' from everyone ;) Sounds like you have a busy couple of days getting readyfor the big event. Wishing you all the best.

Well ladies tomorrow is Friday - gosh it took a long time to get here

:D :D It's Friday! :D :D

I did the first workout from CoreMax last night and I think my form has gotten better over the past month. I also did my 30 minute stretching dvd. I am going to try to convince myself to do MuscleMax tonight. Not sure about the weekend yet.

Nancy - Good work with the powerwalk. How was the supper club?

Engineer - Is the knee feeling better today? Sounds like PT is going pretty well. That is exciting news for the girls - will you be boarding them there until they come into heat, or do you have things timed? I always thought breeding was scary and that was just with thoroughbreds - I can't imagine it with draught horses!

engineer
05-12-2006, 10:35 AM
Yes we are leaving them in ID - DH says for about a month  I like my girls and I don't like them to be gone. We thought about AI (it's allowed for Drafts, I know not thoroughbreds) with the vet but it sounds like that's not got a good track record, so off to ID we go. To me this whole thing is scary...trailering them that far, leaving them, breeding, birthing, etc  :o I'm so frightened but I'm forging ahead. (OK DH is behind me with a prod ;) )

Super job on seeing improvement on CoreMax. I think that's so exciting and gratifying when you see improvement. :D Keep it up
