(Hope this works.)
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, want to be mothers, and to the mothers who aren't with us (we are thinking of you).

DD woke me up with a big hug and a kiss this morning, followed by a cup of coffee and a marigold that she planted herself in kindergarten class. :D DS offered me his half eaten apple. :p

Ah, that's adorable. I especially like the half eaten apple!
I'm only a fur baby mom but he woke me up by running up and down the hall and then came to cuddle in my face.
Happy Mother's Day to everyone!

My youngest DD just made an entire breakfast of pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs and she did a great job! It took her almost two hours - she got up at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning to make the breakfast. She's taking a nap now, all tuckered out. :o Cute.
DS helped her alittle with the cleanup, and gave me a card with a "World's Best Mom" button inside. No offense - I know you are all the WORLD'S BEST MOM too!
Oldest DD is driving home for dinner after work, then back to the city. All three are great kids, I like them as well as love them.
I watched one of my favorite movies on AMC this morning (Desk Set) while drinking my coffee. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is on now. Great way to start the day.
Wishing you all a very...

DD (4) woke me up EARLY this morning with a brown bag she had decorated at school...inside was a little bottle ( like a salt shaker size ) filled with purple playdoh with a fork sticking out of it. I was a bit confused until she said - "Mom, it holds a recipe for you in the fork!". How great a gift is that!!! If I get a chance later, I'll upload a photo of it - it's pretty cool!

Happy Mother's Day to those of you who are mothers. I'm spending the day clearing out the room that my foster children will use (when I finally get the licensing process completed.)
This week three younger children at my school were taken into foster care. I'm worrying about them and hoping that they are having a great weekend with their temporary families. They are in two homes and the foster families seem great.

Beth, bless you for becoming a foster mother. My best friend grew up with foster brothers and sisters because her mother adored children. She had four biological children, and I cannot count how many foster children over the years.
She adopted two of the foster kids, a brother and sister. Another boy adored her so much that when his biological mother wouldn't give permission for my friend's mother to legally adopt him, he had his last name legally changed to hers when he was 18. So in essence, he adopted her.

Beth, I second GingerPow's sentiments. I think being a foster parent is one of the most amazing, selfless things a person can do.
My parents spent the weekend with us so they could babysit while DH and I went to a wedding last night. So, I got to sleep in (as much as I can these days--7:30) both days. Yea! DD woke up this morning about the time that I was heading upstairs to take a shower, so I had to turn around and come back down so she could give me the cards she had made. Then the ILs came over and I hosted brunch. It was really nice to spend the morning with both sets of parents. Everybody left by noon, so now I have the day to relax. It has been a perfectly wonderful mother's day.

Happy Mother's Day to us all!!
I don't want to make everyone jealous, but my 8yo got me a Pasta Express for my big day. I am also the proud owner of 2 plastic neon margarita glasses.
(And for anyone wondering if the Pasta Express really works, save your money!!)

Family Mother's Day tradition of eating Chinese Food still in place this year too. We seem to eat Chinese at Easter, Christmas Eve and Mother's Day. Not as many people there as other places. Girls made cute gifts at church and Scott was flying through all that bad Boston weather.
