View Full Version : Do you use anti-wrinkle eye cream?

I've been using Lancome's Renergie Microlift Eye cream in an attempt to firm up the skin around my eyes. I have used most of the tiny >$50 jar over the last 2 months and have really not seen any difference. I don't have really bad wrinkles but I was expecting to see some effect. The Lancome woman called this stuff "botox in a jar" for what that's worth.
Has anyone used an anti-wrinkle eye cream and actually seen a difference? Or are these products just to separate us from our money? :D

A friend of mine sells Arbonne Products. I bought a kit for anti-aging creams. After 2 weeks I had the following comments. A friend I had not seen in a while asked me what was different. My face looked good, did I have my eye brows plucked (which is so NOT me). My husband said: "You look so well rested, you don't have those bags anymore" Unfortunetly I am still tired!!!! My 13 year old DD asked if I lost weight because my face looked so healthy. Is it because of the product, I am not sure, but you can bet I am going to keep using it. I do love the way the creams feel, but it is very expensive. Good luck!!

I use eye-cream to moisturize the area but I don't fool myself (much :o ) into thinking it can reverse wrinkling.
Olay Regenerist is said to work magic. THere's also a new Pond's eye-cream that is supposed to be great and ROC also gets raves. Avon has a new dual-based product...one for moisturizing and the other side of the jar for "lift."
I use vaseline, Burt's Bees and my neighbor uses the Victoria Principle line ..she gave me an extra eye-cream (it goes on great, but again, no miracles...sadly).
I use olay complete spf15 moisturizer and try to get as close to the eye area as I can without getting it into my eyes. I think sunblock is about the best thing we can do to prevent more damage.

It's funny--the Renergie Microlift is the ONLY thing I've found that has really made a noticeable difference. I was actually considering having an eyelift until I started using this. I think everyone's skin is so different that you just have to keep trying until you find something that works. I know lots of people on the boards have great luck with Hydroderm. I did almost six months with it and got no effect at all. Apparently, my crazy skin needed something different. :)

I just tried Origins products for the first time this weekend. I am not one to rave about moisturizers and such, but after using the High Potency Night-A-Minshttp://a248.e.akamai.net/www.origins.com/images/products/org_08JK_short_med.jpg for just one day I noticed a significant difference in the lines around my eyes. When I smile, it seems like the skins around my eyes gets all bunched up and wrinkly. Anyhow, it is about half as wrinkly now. I am so sold on this stuff. I didn't think a moisturizer could do that. I had been using Olay Regenerist and before that, Mary Kay products.

I second this!! I've only been using the system for about 2 months but I've noticed a HUGE difference in my skin as a whole. The down side is that it's fairly expensive...

I've never even heard of it. Do you have to buy it from a rep (like Mary Kay products)?

Yes, ma'm!! The Healing Garden!
Although I might, if lucky, get a quick minor fix from the over-the-counter products, of course it's always temporary, and after a week, back to normal! Like Catherine, blessedly my only crinkley/wrinkley area involves those (not-so) laugh(-able) lines around the corners of my eyes. It had gotten to the point where, after the laughing, the creases were taking longer & longer to relax, daggummit! Joke over, already! And even before a smile, there were some very fine creases I obsessed about that were not funny either. A few weeks ago, I stumbled into a $15 4-piece bagged trial kit at the drugstore of The Healing Garden's Skin Organics line (gel cleanser, toner, moisterizer, and eye cream; by itself, I believe the reg. size eye cream is only $13). Not so much a fan of the cleanser and def. not the toner (don't use it ever), but I really like the moisterizer (not greasy at all on this combo face) and ADORE the eye cream--still have the crinkles when I laugh, but then I do tend to go all out ya know and I blame these chubby little cheeks for some of that. But then, POOF!, no post-grin creases, smooth relaxed corners! And the resting under-eye area is definitely happier as well. I did start using that mineral foundation about the same time, but even make-up free, I can really tell a difference. No one at work (or home) has mentioned my more relaxed look, but they thought I was being silly about those lines anyway...

What does your neighbor think of the Victoria Principal line? I saw that on TV and was considering it. I love the Lancome stuff but it's sooooo expensive. My almost-50 skin needs some heavy-duty treatment.
I've always been suspicious of TV informercial stuff, but I bought DD ProActive since she was very frustrated with her acne. It worked better than the stuff the dermatologist prescribed; you should have seen his face when we told him!

OK, fancyn and luvItalian ---
What exactly do you use in that Arbonne line? I've just looked at the website and can't find anything specifically called an "anti-wrinkle" kit. I use Olay but am getting older and open to new items!
Thanks,
Nancy

OK, I can feel my credit card starting to vibrate in my back pocket ----
Do you use all six products? Or just a few?
Thanks.

I have all 6 but I don't normally use the night cream, unless it's winter. It's very heavy and I have combination skin so for fear of a break out, it's only occasional. And you use each in a particular order for optimal results. It is a little pricey but supposedly lasts 6-8 months. I've been very pleased so far! :)

She literally will not leave home without it. ADORES the stuff and orders from QVC like it was heroine
I must confess, her skin looks really nice. She is a natural strawberry-blonde (fair skin) and is not good about sunblock and sun combos. I marvel at her skin.
Maybe it is genetics ....maybe it is the product line...

Another vote for the Origins line. The night-a-mins line is really great. I am much older than most of you and I got a great compliment from a neighbor who I saw after several months. I feel it's very afforable.

For me, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream has made incipient lines and crepiness much less noticeable. For comparison, I used a giveaway sample of Clinique All About Eyes for several weeks and it did nothing!

you may not like to hear this one, but when i first went to france in '69, my french penpal introduced me to two concepts:
Nivea Oil dabbed around the edges of the eyes, religiously, after every shower. in my 50's, don't have crowlines.
#2 is the famous French Diane de Poitier's medieaval legendary plan for maintaining firm breasts: a 15-minute icy-water soak each day, meaning that one's chest only was dipped. not fun.
take this with many grains of salt. but i have been foolish enough to attempt them: at least i haven't fallen prey to botox, etc, and could never go under the knife.
keep aslking questions

A coworker just asked me to host an Arbonne party. I am glad to hear that some of you like the products and actually noticed a difference.
