Hi. I just recently moved to the area, am in my mid-30s, and am interested in either joining an existing club that covers the Center City Philly area or trying to start one up. Any tips as to how active folks are in the area? If not, anyone interested in trying to get a Center City club together?

Thanks,

Neal

Hi Neal - Welcome to Philly and the CL board! Enjoy this wonderful, friendly city.

If you have moved here from outside the general area and aren't familiar with the city - be sure to check out the Reading Terminal Market @ 12th & Arch St. - near the Convention Center. Park in the garage at 12th & Filbert. Here's the link w/ info: http://readingterminalmarket.org/index.php

Make sure you have plenty of empty space in your refrigerator, the food offered there is remarkable!

Hello,

I'd also be interested in joining a supper club. We recently moved into Center City from East Falls and I'm looking for a few new things to do.

Let me know if/when you schedule the first meeting or dinner!

Many thanks for the feedback and it sounds like there is a great opportunity to put together a Center City cooking club. My suggestion would be to wait another week or two to see if some other folks write in/express interest. Then, perhaps we could set up a group meeting/chat at a local eating establishment for sometime in late June to say hello and brainstorm what the cooking club might look like? Other thoughts?/Ideas?

I hope the weekend and summer season is starting off well for everyone.

Thanks,

Neal

I'd love to join a supper club too! I live in the Philly 'burbs, but can make it to Center City with no problem. My personal email is ambera68@yahoo.com.

Hi. I hope mid-June is finding everyone well. To follow up on my posting of last weekend, I sent out an email a few minutes ago to folks who have expressed interest in joining a Center City Cooking Light Club about potential times, dates, and locations for an initial hello/exploratory get together for sometime hopefully during the next two weeks. If for some reason, you do not get this note, please notify me and I will send along details.

Many thanks and I am looking forward to meeting everyone and hopefully putting together a first event.

Hi. So, as hopefully folks saw in the email message I sent out earlier today, it looks like our first meeting is scheduled for ~6:30pm on Wednesday, June 28th near Rittenhouse Square. If for some reason you did not get my email, please send me a note at nrs383@hotmail.com and I will pass along location details.

Many thanks and I look forward to meeting everyone on the 28th!

Amber- Just to let you know that there is a Delaware Co. Supper Club. When you say Philly burbs what Co. were you talking about.
Anyway the Del. Co club has been around for three years and we're always open to new members.

We also have one in the Chester County area, one of these days we should get all of the Philly area clubs together!
