Northern VA Doctor Recommendations

Anyone have a great OB/GYN recommendation. I don't love mine and since I want to start thinking about a family in the next year I want one I love. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I don't remember the names of either practice, but I just had my baby with Dr. Miguel Fernandez. They have an Arlington and Reston office. Of the other Docs in the practice, I would also highly recommend Amy Porter.

Many of my co-workers have gone with another practice. Their Dr was Sandra Caskie. There are quite a few other doctors in the practice too. I'm not sure if they have an office in addition to their Arlington office. I frankly couldn't get them to call me back which is why I ended up with a different practice.

Thanks for the info! I actually am at Caskie's office now and just didn't feel great after my last appt with them (not Caskie incidently). I just got into Rossi, Piness (Alrlington) and have heard great things about Dr. Piness (rated in the Washingtonian and on a site I founds called DC Urban Mommies---or something to that effect). I am scheduled to see one of their midwives in a few weeks and am optomistic. If anyone has reviews on this clinic or general info re: great doctors in the area I'd love to hear it.

I'm not in that area anymore, but wanted to give a brief plug for considering a combination Midwife/OB-GYN practice. That is what I used (here in RI) and was extremely happy with midwifery care through my entire pregnancy (and delivery!). No, I'm not a midwife, but just thought I'd offer my two cents.

I go to Rossi/Piness, which is a combo OB/GYN -Midwife practice, and have nothing but wonderful things to say about everyone there. Karen King, one of the midwives, delivered my first child, and I am happily staying there as we try for #2. I've sent a couple of friends there, too, and they've been happy. I highly recommend them!
