Dear (enter my email address):

Our diligence in this area is evidenced by the arrests that are made and the trust that is built both within the community and with law enforcement. Most importantly, we do this without compromising our commitment to our member's privacy. eBay, Inc., has established a Fraud Investigations Team (FIT) to promote safe use of our platforms, and to collaborate with law enforcement throughout the world to enforce policies, prosecute fraudsters and help keep our Community safe.

Val thanks for your response. After I posted I happened to receive another email from Ebay showing me some specials. I followed that exact link that you posted and Ebay responsed that they forwarded the fake email to the appropriate people. Thanks!

If eBay wants to discuss something with you, they will do it in "My eBay". It is at the top of their home page. You just go and log in and any message that eBay has sent you will be there. Never respond to one of these emails, or even click on the link, as i have been told by ebay that the email could contain a keystroke virus. If you got curious and clicked on the link, you may want to run a virus scan. (Or at least that is what they told me.)

Anytime I receive something from eBay I just forward it to spoof@ebay.com (http://) or if it is an email about Paypal I send it to spoof@paypal.com (http://)

I then go and check "My eBay".

Good luck and happy bidding/selling!
Joyce

Besides all of the information posted here already to indicate it was fake there is one inherent problem with the information that would have set major alarms off in my head. IP addresses are numbers such as 207.142.131.248 (this happens to be the one for wikipedia) they are nothing like the address they posted.
