My sister loves to garden and she's run into a persistent problem with spiders. Her plants (potted and in the garden) get covered in very fine spider webs. There must be tiny spiders living in there, but they're not easy to find. What can she do to get rid of the spiders/webs? Any info you can provide would be appreciated.

Sounds like mites..spider mites. There are products that are either sprays or dusts to combat mites.

Sounds like spider MITES. It's really necessary to get rid of them--they're not harmless. Google "spider mites" and you'll find plenty of information.

Here's a Master Gardener article on mites (http://www.emmitsburg.net/gardens/articles/adams/2001/spider_mites.htm)
Hope it helps!

I just purchased this stuff: Garden Safe Fruit & Vegetable Insect Spray (in the middle) at the Home Depot for use indoors, outdoors & in greenhouses on fruit & nut trees, flowering foliage and bedding plants, veggies, citrus, small fruit like strawberries, ornamental and shade trees as well as houseplants. Includes residual protection against mites.
