Look! My little cutie pie dwarf rabbit Gellar has made his debut in the local newspaper!

I am acting merely as a prop from which he is enjoying his moment in the spotlight...

(Yes, I'm wearing a tiara. The story that goes with the photo is about me in my role as Poetry Princess, but the photographer fell in love with Gellar's gorgeous wee face and hence, a supermodel is discovered.)

Thanks for posting the link doggerham - you bet me to it!

The great news is that a florist has come forward and is donating all the flowers, so I can sleep well, safe in the knowledge that in a month's time I can pop on the ole tiara and give out poems (and flowers)...

The actual photo on the cover of the newspaper is HUGE - I nearly died of shock when I saw it. Of course, all I can focus on is those lines around my eyes...

Paula -- that's great news about the flowers! Your project sounds wonderful.

I didn't mean to "beat" you to posting the link -- I was more interested in how quickly I could find the article with the limited search info I had. The answer is about a minute. God Bless the Internet. (and unique search terms...)

What a gorgeous bunny and princess. ;) Paula, you're beautiful. I didn't notice any lines on the eyes.

I loved the story around the photo. What a great idea to give away poetry books. I would love to read some of your and Dr. Love's poems. Are any online?

I also love the flowers idea. Too bad the counsil didn't agree. I can't see a city counsil here agreeing to poetry in the first place, though.

The poetry "books" are actually eight-page booklets (I don't know how many times I said that, both in person and through the press release, to the reporter), with poems by local poets. It's always fabulous getting to go over other people's poems, then struggling to narrow it down to eight.

It isn't actually city council money that provides the grants, they're just the local administrator for a central government arts funding scheme. In the past they've given me money for flowers, but this year it seems the committee just didn't have any green thumbs!

If you are really that interested, you can sample some of my poems here (http://streetwomen.co.nz/). Sorry, still working on getting Dr Love's poems up somewhere!
