Ok--I admit this is a dumb question. But as I ponder serious questions, like why do they call where you park your car a driveway and where you drive your car a parkway, I started to ponder a question that is really pretty dumb. But here goes....

How does one "surf" the internet in a language other than English? Every site I ever visit is in English. What if I speak French, and want nothing but sites in French??

I told you it was a dumb question....

All the sites that you see are in english because they end with .com or .org. For example, most German sites end in .de.

These are thoughts Steven Wright, the comic, would ponder.

Also, yahoo has regional sites for different countries that I'm sure would yield sites in the language of those countries. For example, here is a site that I found on Yahoo! France when I searched for "pommes de terre" http://www.cnipt.com/ Note that the site does end with .com, so I think it is not true anymore that sites ending with .com or .org are necessarily American or in English.
