ISO Carmel, Monerey, Pacific Grove Hotel Suggestions

My husband and I want to stay in either Carmel, PG or Monterey for 2 or 3 nights in July. I've searched this site (other stuff) and did find a lilttle bit of info, but I'm hoping someone can give me some info.

We really don't want to spend an arm and a leg on accommodations. We also want to see Big Sur.
