I am so excited. DH and I decided we were ready to hear the pitter patter of little paws so we have been seaching. We have looked at shelters, online, breeders and about every place we could imagine. We were about to give up today, but decided to go look at some black lab puppies we had seen earlier in the day at the local Petsmart (they have adoptions every weekend). Well by the time we had gotten there, all the black labs were gone, but this sweet girl was still there and we instantly fell in love. So she still must be spayed and we should have her no later than Thursday!!! I am so excited.

So any good ideas for a name? She's currently named Whisper, but we aren't really sold on that name. Only names that are out are Gidget, Lilo, Agatha, Jody and Maggie (all names of my past pets, or family member's pets).

Oh yeah they think she is a spaniel/lab mix.

"Why don't you call her Kate?"

as my best friend's five year old ask me after I listed off a selection of exotic names for my new Himalayan cat.....Kate she is. It's a good name, its his mom's name.

Congratulations acginkc! She is so adorable! We got a puppy in January, and it was one of the best moves we ever made!!!

Another name related to her color is Bianca (Italian). I really like Abby. What about Sadie?

I want to cuddle her!

Does she have a Dudley nose? Meaning that it changes color from black to pink? I love that about some labs. I liked Harley as well.

What a cute dog... I love her spotted nose.

There are two names that I would love to use for a pet. Boo Radley (Boo for short) if you had a shy dog, or Scout, both are from "To Kill a Mockingbird".

Since she is part spaniel, I vote for "Blanca" which means "white" in Spanish.

She's very sweet!

Thanks for all the name suggestions. There are so many of them I like, and a lot of them have inspired our current list. We are going to wait until we get her to officially name her. Gotta make sure it matches you know?

So our short list (so far):
Alby
Coda
Bella
Bonham
Lola
Marley

My DH is a drummer so you may see some music themes here. I will post more pics of her when I get her home.

Hi BlueMoose!

Are you spying on me? I was just there last night. ;)

A local bar we go to is called the Blue Moose. Though during the summer we like to call it La Moose Azul because all of the cute size 2 college kids are back and way too dressed up for a neighborhood bar and grill :D :D :D

The L. being our last name. DH and I picked her up last night and she is too sweet. We are trying to get her on a routine and work on crate training so last night was interesting (what about 2am says playtime to you?). Well without further ado...

She's cute! You could call her Bebe or BB for short if you got tired of yelling at her :D as she chews on your plants, your sofa, the remote control, etc.

The first few days w/a dog/puppy can be very hard. When we brought Kharlee home, we crate trained her, too. We couldn't have the TV on in our room when we went to sleep because she would cry and cry - we couldn't talk at all!

My GF, who had a Great Dane puppy at the time, used a leash and kept him on a leash so that he (a) wouldn't get in trouble (b) potty training and (c) bonding. He went everywhere she went when she was home and when she couldn't watch him, was confined. That way he didn't have an opportunity to make any mistakes or if he started to do somehing bad, he was immediately corrected. He turned into a great dog; and sadly, at 7, has cancer.

I did that with Kharlee, too, and it worked pretty well. She was a handful!

Love the name Bella Bonham! My DH is a drummer too, I was wondering which you were going to pick.

Those pictures are soooooooooo cute. She looks much smaller than I thought from your original pic. In that middle one where she's sitting on the sidewalk she looks a little pit bull-y to me. I had a beagle/pit bull (imagine) and he was the BEST dog ever. Good luck with her and keep us posted if you need training tips! All I can say is... double duct tape everything she could possibly chew on. Oh WAIT, that's MY crazy dog...
