Not really, but it looked like it after I took a shedding blade to my GR. This photograph shows just part of the fur in the yard. It could have easily filled a grocery bag.

OMG...that is soooo funny.
I have a Golden and that "grooming thingy" does wonders to their winter coat! Our little daschund raaaan around the yard catching the fluffs of fur!! It was very entertaining.
I love your picture Gumbeaux!!!!!!!

 I had a husky/australian shepherd mix once that would yield that amount of fur when brushed regularly. Do you ever wonder how there is still so much fur left on them?

Just think, Gumbeaux, the birds in your neighborhood will have the plushest cushiest nests!
Thanks for the pic, your GR is so handsome, as always.

That's how much hair that gets shed when I pet my cats. :p Not really, but they do shed a ton. We call Gris "rabbit" because her fur is so soft and dense. If you were blindfolded and petted her, you wouldn't know it was a cat instead of a bunny.
I remember how much my golden shed. Those shedding blades do wonders. I bought one for "rabbit". :D

Gumbeaux, this time of year I take our GR to the groomer and tell her that I want to take home a giant chihuahua. :D (It's not really that close of a clip, but she gets the idea and does a great job).
Murphy is more comfortable in the heat, & dries quickly after a dip in the pool.
I was also thinking that all that fluff will be much appreciated by the birds. That's what I do with the brushed out fur too - toss it into the garden. It is always gone within three days.
Your GR is a cutie. I adore this breed. And our little Havanese. And every other dog I ever met. :D

Your GR looks like he/she has such a thick, curly coat!
Bailey's main problem - other than year-round shedding - is that his feathers are so long, they reach to the ground in many places! We will be boarding him later this week and I think I'll have him groomed while he's there. Shorter feathers for sure! I hope he doesn't come home looking stupid. :o
Poor Bailey - boarding AND grooming all in one week - he'll be a wreck when we pick him up.
Cute picture. :)

Great pic! I used to live with 2 beagles, and there were times when I swore that you could put fur on another dog with all of the shedding.
My next door neighbor has a small German Shepherd. They both got really short hair cuts and now kind of look alike. ;)

Loved the photo -- I have 2 Goldens, and they are double trouble... one has very long silky fur!
We used to have Siberian Huskies, and they shed in clumps! I used to enjoy picking the clumps off! (The dogs did NOT enjoy that part at all :p )
