OK, so I am starting this a little early, but I didn't want it to sink to the bottom too fast...
The yarn harlot posted today about a good cause if anyone ihas the need to do little projects, so I thought I'd share for anyone who doesn't read her blog....
the short version is helping low income women learn about bre*st feeding, and as a promotion giving away little vegi/fruit hats to babies...
go here http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/archives/2006/06/29/the_power_scares_me.html for more info.

As for my real knitting news, I frogged my half done tank top when I decided it really would be too big (I kept trying to convince myself I could fix it with the back  )...and I can't finish yet another project for DH, as it turns out his hands are too big, and I have run out of yarn AGAIN! One day I will learn this lesson--if DH wants something up the yarn by 30%!!!!!!

I just started knitting last year after a long hiatus (I was taught wrong and what I made was hideous and full of mistakes - a long [and funny] story  ). I took some lessons and then went from there. Fortunately, I have some great knitters for friends and their tutoring is great.

Currently, I'm starting on my first sweater project. It's the sweater on the right of the cover of Saturday Sweaters:

I'm doing this in Mountain Colors Weaver's Wool in Ruby River:

It's working up very nicely and I'm happy with it.

I also have a little cottage business with felted cat beds:

AND I've been fiddling with lace (anyone see the deconstructed lace shawl on Yarn Yarlot?). Interesting.

I thought a whole lot worse words than what she said about the lace shawl

Hey, Beejay1. Haven't seen you around in ages. Not sure if your comment was directed at me, but I'm choosing to not take it as a snarky post. I searched and didn't find this July thread started, so I've directed our fellow knitwits over here.

Cute cat bed! Are you selling them via word of mouth, online or? I've never sold any of my knitting but have thought about it...

Hey, Beejay1. Haven't seen you around in ages.

I've been gone a couple years. I left because of a particularly nasty stalker (who victimized a couple folks here) tried to get her claws into me at a very bad time.

Not sure if your comment was directed at me, but I'm choosing to not take it as a snarky post.

Oh, lord! I never even thought of that. I was referring to the 'bump' title, not the thread. Besides, I was enjoying drooling over the various patterns in Knitty too much to want to be snarky to anyone!

Thanks! I've set up a website, which needs work, and am putting them on eBay, too. The problem with selling knitting (or crocheting or felting) is that people come by, look your things over, try to figure out the pattern, say they can do just as well, themselves, and then go wafting off.
