The tango ball, that is.
The New Zealand Tango Festival is currently on - last year we didn't even know such a thing existed until afterwards, so we've been hanging out for it this year! Unfortunately we have to miss the main day of workshops, as I'm teaching massage tomorrow, but once I finish, we'll be jumping in the car and driving down.
Dr Love is then taking me out for dinner (a light meal, I suspect), then we'll be off to the tango ball and dancing til midnight (if not later)! I can't think of the better way to celebrate my birthday, really.
Then all day Sunday we'll be attending workshops - and my feet will be killing me by the end of it all, I suspect (note to self: must must must invest in some practice shoes at some point; three-inch stilettos are not made for four and a half hours of dance classes).
This is all very exciting, as neither of us have ever been to a ball before, let alone a tango ball!
And no, for the fashion mavens in the crowds, I didn't have the time or money to organise a dress suitable for tango, so I'm wearing my tango skirt (black with a long split up the left thigh), a rather saucy top (red) and a short wrap top (black with a few sequins - it is winter here, after all), complete with previously mentioned three-inch black stilettos and either black or fishnet stockings.
I'm so excited!!
