I was having a particularly bad evening yesterday. We've been having some aggression problems with our almost 4 yr. old (the makings of another thread!). Also, our 7 yr. old is way over tired lately and has also been giving us grief.
Anyway……I found out yesterday that my 84 year old great-aunt (who is also a retired nun) will be coming home from Ontario for a visit and that she has planned on coming out to our house for supper. In telling this to DH I said we’ll have to really give the place a really good tidying, as she may want a tour of the whole house. She hasn’t been there since we built four years ago. DH said, “Sure. But she can only look in our bedroom if I can say as I open the door, ‘and HERE is where the magic happens!’” :D :p
I’m still laughing when I think about it.

Don't you just have to love a person, be it DH or DF that can take a tense situation and say just the right thing? I wish I was gifted with that ability! It would sure make life easier on me and the people around me! DH can do that for me, sometimes...
Congrats on having someone like that in your life! :D

THAT is a cute story!
The night I met my future husband, he had me laughing till I had tears in my eyes. Well, the more I laughed, the harder he worked to make me laugh.
All these years later, he still cracks me up, and I can make him laugh too. Which is a very good thing, especially when we bicker over something, and realize it's ridiculous, then crack a joke, laugh and it's over.
He has one of the quickest wits of anyone I know.
I hope you DH does say that to your great aunt. She might surprise you and laugh! Nuns can be pretty cool sometimes.
My DH's aunt is a nun, worked as a math teacher for 40 years in an all boys high school. She is a tough, no-nonsense woman with a heart of gold.
She was telling us stories from her years of teaching one day, and I told her that if she hadn't become a nun, she would have made a great bouncer in a waterfront bar. She howled with laughter, and agreed with me. :D

I love making little old ladies laugh! I was talking with my sweet, sensitive little grandma (81) about Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire (I LOVE Gene Kelly), and I told her that you give Fred Astaire your heart, but you give Gene Kelly your body. She blushed, but boy did she laugh! And she didn't disagree! I say let your husband go for it! :D
