Carolyn,
There is no greater bliss. My only grandaughter (so far) is 21 mths and absolutely the light of our lives.
As I had 4 children I am definitely expecting more. Yea!!!

Congratulations Carolyn!

My parents live close to us and it's so great to have the kids see them all the time. It's wonderful for me to have my mom so close, too. I don't know what I'd do without her! Have lots of fun being a Grandma http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Congratulations Carolyn! I'm an only child and my parent's only shot at grandkids, and we've decided to remain childless. I could tell they were a little disappointed, because they'd be perfect grandparents, but that's the way things go! She says she just enjoys her friend's grandkids and gets a chance to spoil THEM rotten, then send 'em back to Nana's house! Good luck! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

And THEY are lucky to have you so close and so excited about being involved in their lives. My parents have a great relationship with my girls even though they live a few hours away and can't see them as often as they wish. (I wish I could say as much for the girls' other grandparents who live only ten minutes away but don't seem to have much interest.) http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

So, congrats . . . and enjoy!

thanks guys, I guess the realization is starting to set in. Julie Ann is due Feb.22!
She is so happy, I told her today we'd go shopping this weekend & "look" at maternity clothes. Hee Hee --You see she is the ultimate CLOTHES HORSE!
My youngest daughter Jennifer (22yrs old)
has been trying to get pregnant for a year now with no luck. Julie Ann gets off the pill and Wham. Jennifer is so jealous already. I told her that her DH and herself are trying to hard. Julie Ann & her DH weren't expecting it to happen so quickly.
Boy, I'm going on & on...
again, thanks for being here & listening to me prattle. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif

Congratulations Carolyn! How exciting for your family! We have really appreciated being close to my husband's parents -- it's good for the grandparents and the grandkids. My mom, who lives in PA, misses out on a lot. (But, if my sister, who lives in Charleston, ever got pregnant, I am guessing that my mom would move to SC in a flash!!) Gaye
