Carvel ice cream shops in NJ make something similar called Flying Saucers... they even offer the "twisted" vanilla/chocolate low-fat ice cream in them! Yummy! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

We don't have carvel in W. Colorado but in Connecticut we grew up with them. Ooooh PatsyK - I love those flying saucers!

I love the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. They also make them with chocolate ice cream in the middle (still 2 points) and I think those are better than the vanilla.

You can find info about where they sell them on their website: http://www.skinnycow.com/

The only drawback I find is that they are something like $4.59 for 6 of them, which seems kind of pricey. Goldilocks - do you know what you pay?

slknight - yes, they are pricey! I pay about the same as you, $4.50. I haven't even seen the chocolate filled ones. This is my first week of buying them, but I think they might become a regular purchase. It's cheaper than going to the frozen yogurt shop at $2.50 a pop, and better than eating Ben & Jerry's.

I just had a chocolate skinny cow last night!Found out about them after joining Weight Watchers. One of the women who reached goal talked about how they saved her from her sweet tooth. She said that her boyfried who didn't have a weight problem would raid her stash. Hearing that, I had to give them a try. I've been enjoying them ever since. Even my ten year old daughter likes them, and she is a chocolate fanatic!

Depending on which grocery store I go to, I've bought the mixed pack, vanilla only, or chocolate only. I will buy whatever is available, but I really like the mixed pack. Sounds like we are all paying around the same amount, but considering that they are only 2 points on WW, and that they taste great, I treat myself. It's a nice reward without putting a dent in my diet.

There is also a mint flavor and a peanut butter flavor (not mixed together, of course). Both are good.

Not quite sure if any of you have heard of this, I stumbled upon it and wanted to share. It's an ice cream sandwich, two chocolate cookies with vanilla (lowfat) ice cream in between. It is delicious (and only 2 points for you WW'ers). It really quenches my sweet cravings in the evening. You can find them in your market's freezer section. They are yummy!

For those of you who can't find those in your area (like me!) our favorite 'light' summer treat has been two chocolate graham cracker squares with nonfat Cool Whip spread in the center (about 1/2-3/4" thick) and then frozen. YUM! I think each one is 1 WW point, maybe 2, depending on your graham cracker, but if you can't get the real thing, try these! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Those graham cracker treats Jewel mentioned are a staple in my freezer. If you use low-fat graham crackers and fat-free Cool Whip, they are only one WW point apiece. I like to use cinnamon graham crackers.

I have been sick lately and my DH asked me if there was any special treat that I wanted him to get for me. I immediately told him about skinny cows after seeing this post.

Voila...there they were.

They are so yummy!! They make me feel better, at least temporarily.

I was at Central Market yesterday and noticed they now have Peppermint Skinny Cows (pink ice cream with vanilla cookies) and Peanut Butter Cup Skinny Cows (peanut butter and chocolate ice cream in chocolate wafers.

I still haven't bought any of these since I'm busy eating full-fat gingersnaps and brownies, but I'm tempted with the new flavors. Has anyone tried the peanut butter Skinny Cows?

Yup. :) They're not bad! I won't buy Skinny Cows anymore because I will find a justification to eat them for breakfast, for a snack, and for dessert!

They look really yummy. I'm just scared they won't be very satisfying since they are so low fat. I'll probably want to eat 2.

I think the peanut butter/chocolate skinny cows are the best! I just found the mint sandwiches at Safeway the other day and picked up a package, but I haven't tried them yet. They're not the peppermint/pink ice cream, though, mine's green.

I'm going to have to break down and buy the peanut butter ones. I think the pink ones are new. They're probably out for the holidays or something.

I've tried the PB and the green mint ones. I liked the PB a lot. But the PB flavor could have been a bit stronger. I loved the mint. Yum.

I am like MKSquared, though. I don't buy them because I tend to go overboard eating them. And one skinny cow is never enough for me. I always have to go back for seconds. I don't know if it is becasue they are "not satisfying" or if it is becasue I am an oink-oink.

I've never heard of these, I'll have to look for them. I got some of the Weight Watchers ice cream sandwiches, and they are tasteless. Always nice to find a new treat!

Speaking of satisfying. I think you should go read the "Are you ever really satisfied?" thread and then make a batch of almond roca. I'd like to see how yours turns out.

Sorry to go way OT here.
