I followed the recipe here in terms of ingredients but I did not prepare the pork on the grill. Instead, I marinated the whole tenderloin and then cooked it in the oven.
My guests loved this recipe and it was easier than I thought it would be. The pork marinade came together in just a few minutes. I made the peanut sauce one day ahead--I don't have a mortar and pestle so I just did it in my mini chopper. The sauce was so yummy I could have eaten half of it with a spoon http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif (I resisted).
This would be a good dish to serve if some guests like spicy food and others don't. The marinade is flavorful but it is not hot at all--the sauce is pretty spicy but can be served on the side.
I served the pork with a Thai cucumber salad (not the one in the magazine) and rice flavored with a bit of lime.
This is a keeper but I would probably save it for a special occasion because the ingredients are expensive. I think the peanut sauce would be delicious on chicken or tofu--it has some heat and also seems to have a depth that is missing in some of the easier peanut sauces.

I agree with Jessica. This recipe was great! I did cut back alittle on the peppers in the sauce, because we have milder taste buds. The sauce had "kick" but also had other complex flavors. One of the best peanut sauces I have ever made. Tasted very authentic. I also didn't put the pork on skewers...too lazy! I cut the tenderloin in half, marinated it and then grilled it on the BBQ. I will make this one again!

This recipe was OUTSTANDING!!!!

I agree it would be good for company--eat it plain (VERY DELICIOUS) or with the spicy peanut sauce.

I had quite a bit of leftover sauce and used it as a dip for veggies the next several days. YUMMY.

This has to be one of my favorite CL recipes. Enjoy!

We had this for dinner last night and also thought it was very tasty. Like Jessica, I cooked it in the oven and it was fine. I am sure it would be even better on the grill but ours is in storage. I served it with a very old CL recipe for Waimea Fried Ricethat went with a chicken sate recipe many years back. Delicious!

Just a couple of questions for those of you who made it. I don't eat pork, so would the sauce be equally good with chicken? Also, for those of you who have made both of these dishes, how does the peanut sauce compare to the 'Boka Dashi' recipe from an earlier issue? I am wondering if they are similar.

I am sure the sauce would go well with chicken too. Unfortunately, I haven't made the other recipe to compare the two. It looks like the big difference between them is the coconut milk which makes the sate sauce creamy whereas the other one has tomatos in the sauce and sounds chunky.

I think that it would be worth a try with chicken. If you try this, let me know. I prefer to eat chicken rather than pork.

Personally, I think this sauce would taste good if you spread it on pages of the phone book and ate it.

It's that good http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Jessica I laughed out loud when I read that! With that review, I guess it's on the menu for the weekend!
