Well let's face it: I'm about as likely to knit myself a purse as I am to spend a couple of hours downtown trying to BUY one.
I saw one in the Macy's "Pre-Season Sale" catalogue, ripped out the page, and walked purposefully into the store...only to find it was way too big. Alas.

So I guess a trip to France is out of the question. ;) The HUGE summer sales are going on now, and before I went on bedrest I saw some amazing deals on some really cute, really nice designer purses. I was extremely tempted myself, until I remembered that what I really needed was a practical, washable diaper bag and not a to-die-for-cute designer purse. :D

I just built my own at 1154 LILL Studio (http://www.1154lill.com/home/) and can't wait for it to arrive! My best friend built two at their store in Kansas City when she was traveling for work, and when they showed up a few weeks later, they were absolutely adorable. So I got one for me too. :)

I love that first Banana Republic bag that acginkc posted.

Canice, have you been to a Coach or Dooney and Burke store? They have several sizes of different bags, so if you see something you like, they'll probably have the size you need. I love the look of the leather D&B bags, but they are so heavy.

J Crew has some cute bags as does J Jill.

I can point you to some cute new fall Vera Bradley bags too, if you'd like. ;)

I ordered the Maggie, but it's not showing my fabric selection! It looks like they recently changed their fabric selection, because I'm seeing a lot of new fall fabrics that were not there when built my purse a week or two ago, and mine (which is very spring/summery) is not there. :( It's white/pink/aqua/orange and has kind of a funky whirly, bubbly design. The handles are the same fabric, and the trim was a light pink suede. The inside is funky-colored stripes (possibly the Tutti Fruitti), with an interior pocket in Orange Blossom.

My best friend has a Lucy in Seafoam Microchip with Ballet Slippers interior, and a Kimberly in Black Shantung that reverses to Holiday Party. They are SUPER cute, and the reason I was inspired to build my own.

I don't know if I should thank or be mad at YOU for pointing me BACK to the website now that they have new fall fabrics online!! :eek: I'm thinking I need another one. :o :o
