I've just been to Amazon and couldn't find a darn thing. My 15 year old "I hate to read" kid has discovered short stories and I want to keep him going.
Right now he's reading a Roald Dahl book of short stories. I'd like to find something clever and humorous not preachy or PC. Does such a thing exist??????

how is he on scary/horror stuff? Stephen King's first two books of short stories are terrifically easy to read, mostly not too gory, and I think would be about right for a 15 year old. Night Shift and ...shoot, I'm drawing a blank on hte name of the other collection!
ETA: Skeleton Crew . Geez, that was making me crazy!

I can't help with humourous. If he likes eerie though...Ray Bradbury...especially Martian Chronicles. I also recently went on Amazon and ordered a bunch of books that are works collected by Helen Hoke...more eerie/scary stuff....the books are no longer in print, so I got them for about $2 each.
No exactly short stories but would he like Dave Barry?

These are not short stories but my young nephew loves to read James Patterson novels. Although they are novels (mysteries), the chapters are all very short, usually just a few pages.

May I ask which Roald Dahl book he is reading? Does it include "Lambs to the Slaughter"?

When I saw the subject, I immediately thought of Roald Dahl - glad he's already discovered him.
Bethany - Lamb to the Slaughter is a good one - the perfect murder weapon.
Here are 2 I found that sound good:
1. Every man for himself : ten short stories about being a guy / edited by Nancy E. Mercado.
An anthology of ten original short stories about such things as family problems, sexuality, and courage, written by well-known authors of children's books. Contents: The prom prize / by Walter Dean Myers -- Jump away / by René Saldaña, Jr. -- No more birds will die today / by Paul Acampora -- Shockers / by David Lubar -- Pig lessons / by Edward Averett -- Strange powers / by Craig Thompson -- The unbeatable / by Mo Willems -- Princes / by David Levithan -- Fear / by Terry Trueman -- It's complicated / by Ron Koertge.
2. Island Boys by Graham Salisbury
In this rich collection, Salisbury’s love for Hawaii and its encircling sea shines through every story. Readers will share the rush a boy feels when he leaps off a cliff into a ravine or feasts his eyes on a beautiful woman. They’ll find stories that show what it takes to survive prep school, or a hurricane, or the night shift at Taco Bell, or first love. Graham Salisbury knows better than anyone what makes an island boy take chances. Or how it feels to test the waters, to test the limits, and what it’s like when a beloved older brother comes home from war, never to be the same.
