Well, I finished all the final foster care paperwork today and signed my name a million times. But it's done (what will I ever do with all of my free time ;).) It just all needs to be entered in the state computer. I was told that I'd have a placement by Labor Day but it could be earlier since they have all the important forms on file.

Now, I really need to get myself in gear. I thought I was finally finishing putting my bunk beds together. I've been taking it really slow plus I had to replace my defective new drill. Apparently I put one of the supporting rails on the wrong side and I need to take the whole thing apart to fix it. I was just going to drill a new hole on the other side but I'd probably get it wrong. I'm better off redoing it. So it should be all completed tomorrow. Yay. I just need to get one more mattress to put on the top level and I'm set. Hopefully I don't get a call for a dual placement any time soon .

I'm really getting excited now. I've been waiting for this for a long time and am so ready to move forward.

LOL! Sorry to laugh but it sounds just like something I'd do! In fact when I worked for Pier 1 we had to assemble bentwood rockers at the store and every shipment that arrived I always put the first one together wrong...pretty bad after 12 years!

Glad you're all done with the paper work and I wish all the best with your placements!

Want to come and fix mine for me. I'm sick of looking at the darn thing.

Thanks Erin and Susan.

Beth finished the paperwork!! Beth finished the paperwork!! (Uh oh, hand cramp!)

Good going! Hang in there with the bunk beds. Wish I could send my DH over. We joke that his middle name is "Some Assembly Required."

Bless you for doing all this to help children, Beth. You're going to be a great foster-mom!

The ink was barely dry on my neighbor's foster Care approval when they received a call about premature twins in a nearby hospital that needed a home. Those 2 twins are now First graders and were adopted by my neighbors at their 1-year birthday.

You just never know what God is going to send you...

Congratulations on finishing the paperwork!!! That's my least favorite activity in life!!!

Now on to the fun part - help a child. I'm really impressed by what you are doing, Beth. I wish there were more people like you in the foster care system!

Congratulations!

A summer vacation well spent - even if it was spent looking at paper! The children put in your care will be very lucky indeed. :)
