Anyone have any insight on the benefits of yoga? I have been weight training and doing some aerobics however I think this would be a good compliment to my routine.

In general, yoga is excellent for your cardiovascular system and definitely helps to reduce your stress levels. The breathing exercises alone will assist your body in processing oxygen and burning more calories. I've found the Living Yoga series to be the perfect compliment to my busy lifestyle (particularly the am/pm sessions). There is a definite difference in my energy level when I "yoga". http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Depending on what type of yoga you choose, you can also get great strengthening benefits! Power yoga is a very high-powered workout, and you'll find it to be just as challenging as many aerobics, if not moreso.

Thanks! I know Oxygen.com (on TV) has a 7-8am eastern time show. Maybe I will check it out!

Yes -- they're tapes. But, I think I misspoke myself - it's Living Arts Yoga. You can get the tapes at most video stores (even at Target! which is where I got mine).

They have a bunch of tapes out, Yoga for Abs, AM/PM Yoga, Power Yoga etc.

You can check out their website: www.livingarts.com (http://www.livingarts.com)
