Has anyone out there found a good step aerobics video tape? I have taken classes before so I don't really need a beginner tape - I would like a medium level tape.
I checked Amazon.com and the one I was going to buy got very bad reviews.
I would really like to take classes again, but I haven't been able to find any offered at good times for me.
Thanks for any help!

YES!!!! I love Petra Kolber from the Reebok series, and Kari Anderson is a great instructor as well. But, for Kari's tapes, you have to have a little more stamina. I suggest you go to collagevideo.com, because they specialize in exercise videos; their customer service is exceptional.

Yes! The best step aerobics video I've found (and I've tried dozens in between) is Step Reebok: The Video. It's been out for several years (I've been doing it for about 8 years now worked into my regular exercise routine), and is by far the ultimate. It is a really great workout, and you can increase or decrease your intensity as you progress (or digress sometimes in my case!). There is also Step Reebok: The Power Workout for when you 'graduate' to the next level - but beware! It requires a LOT of coordination and intensity (I have yet to subject myself to the torture).
Petra Kolber and Kathy Kaehler (sp?) are both great instructors in the Reebok series as well - try some of their videos for a little variety!

I love Denise Austin exercise tapes. I don't have her step tape, but I'm sure it's a good one. Denise is great at keeping one motivated and provides helpful hints.

Kelly,
As jenniferharris1 said, Collegevideo is great! Here's a link: http://www.collagevideo.com/cart/homepage.asp?Cart=NTOGIV
Their catalog offers a very good description of the videos, including telling you what is good and bad about them and what fitness level the video is structured for. Apparently each video has been tested by people who work for collegevideo. I won't buy a video I haven't seen without going there first. They also sell audio tape (like for walking and running) and they give you the beats per minute so you can see if the music is the right pace for you.
Good luck!

Hi there
I read through the suggestions and noticed that I'm referred to as "jenniferharris1." I sort of sound like a robot, don't I? But, my user name is the same as my email, and it's easier for me to remember. Please...call me Jennifer!

Thanks All! I'm going to pick up a new tape this weekend.
Now, any ideas on where I can buy some real, stick-to-it motivation?? ;-)

Kelly,
Also try checking out www.videofitness.com. (http://www.videofitness.com.) They have a video selector where you enter what level and kind of tape you are looking for and get back suggestions. There are tons of reviews of videos and they have a GREAT forum!

I have to admit to lovin Susan Powter's tapes. Yes she is a little loud and obnoxious, but if you can get past that and really follow her instructions and do her workout they are very difficult. She really makes you slow down and concentrate on each move and not use momentum. Also love Karen Voight, talk about buff (her not me)

I really like the Step Reebok tapes with Gin Miller. I have about 4 of them. My favorites are the Circut Challenge which combines a step workout and strenght training, and I like the Best of Step Reebok TV. I think they can be purchased from Gin's website. I got mine from Ebay.
Hope this helps.
Christa.
