I need to replace my 5 year old digital camera. I'm getting way too much advice, from too many sources. Who knew there were about 5,000 camera models to choose from?

Has anyone used a really good web site to help make digital camera purchase decision?

I always look at www.cnet.com for any technology related purchases.

This site was mentioned in a thread recently: http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html.

It looks pretty thorough.

Check out www.newegg.com . It is a great site with great prices on any kind of electronic. The users are generally very tech savvy, so I put a lot of weight on the reviews there. You can sort by items with the best ratings, which is exactly how I recently chose my new digital camera. I wanted a tiny pocket-sized one, so I went in and drilled down to the ultra-compact digital camera category and looked at the ones with the best reviews.

Even if you don't read the reviews there, when you decide on a camera, you should check newegg's price. They have very good customer service.

If you have a 35mm SLR, a digital SLR is a good choice. You can use the lenses you already own.

I have the hots for the Nikon D200.
