Hello, I'm new.
The doctor said I had high cholestrol and my triglerights were out of sight.

So I decided to eat foods that were 100% whole wheat pasta and anything else that can be bought that way as well as low fat foods. I do eat oatmeal and not alot of meat. In 6 weeks of this diet I have lost 10 pounds. Is there any one out there who eats this way. I do need some more alternatives. Thanks

It sounds like your doc has diagnosed you with hyperlipidemia. If you have insurance, you can use the dietitians on staff at your local hospital (or any RD you feel comfortable with).

It is easier to discuss your likes and dislikes of food and try to help you find a plan you can stick to for life.

Too much sugar/fruit/alcohol will elevate triglycerides.
Cholesterol elevation can be life-style/food related or it can be a hereditary condition. I highly suggest trying diet AND exercise and if these fail, then seek out Rx meds. but not before.
