I thought I'd make a thread about all the products that are "seen on TV" and review them. I'll start off by reviewing the Magic Bullet! #1 the Juicer stinks... you get a sip of orange juice out of an orange with that thing. And the cups are cheap! They break easily. Besides that, it does everything is says...

We received the Magic Bullet as a wedding gift  from one of the groomsmen and I have liked it for frozen drinks and making salad dressing, but haven't been too impressed other than that.

I don't know what it's called, but I have the "tupperware" type containers that all use the same size lids and then store in a turnabout holder. It's a great thing to have - helps with storage tremendously. You can't freeze water in them or they'll split, but I haven't had any trouble with them otherwise. I love not searching for lids!!!

I bought the dryer balls and have been fairly happy with them. If you have a lot of nylon (under armour, basketball shorts, etc) you still get static...but otherwise I'm a pretty satisfied customer

I got the Winsor Pilates with the "toning ring". HA Toning ring my @$$. It's a hokey little hoop, the only thing it's good for is as a thighmaster. And she barely uses it for anything.

Also Mari gets on my nerves. She yaps a lot and takes too much time between actual work in the workouts - I've only got so many hours in the day!

I called and cancelled the automatic subscription for any more videos. I will keep doing this one, as there are some moves I like, but I turn the sound off and the radio on!

Earlier this year I ordered the beauty system - Jacklyn Smith I think? It worked good but I figured out for the same cost per bottle I could just buy Oil of Olay Regenerist at the grocery store, look for coupons and sales, and not have extras if I didn't use it up fast enough. So it was a good product but I didn't need the whole "system".

Rob pointed them out to me in Target. (right by the Magic Bullet, Eggstrapulator, and Pet Step) He has asthma, and I had mediastinal emphysema last year as well as allergies. I recently read about the toxins in fabric softeners, so I decided to give these a shot. Rob is snoring less, and our clothing looks and feels just as nice. I still have allergies, but I'm getting used to a 3rd cat. I use the balls with all natural lavender dryer packs from Trader Joes. $3 for a pack of 3 that lasts 30 loads. I then can use the packs in my closet because moths hate lavender...but I love it. :p

My in-laws got us those emergency flashlights that you shake. They're pathetic. Even FIL was dissapointed in them when he saw us use them. (We didn't want him to know they didn't work, but he kept asking about it when DH was fixing something.) It's hard to see where you're going when you're constantly shaking a flashlight rapidly up and down... :D They're not bright, either. I replaced them with 99 cent battery operated flashlights from IKEA. I bought a few of them and stashed them over the house. The emergency flashlights are backup backups. :o

We also recently bought the ShedEnder. The model they show on TV is the large version (that cost extra  I just hate that tactic). I got the regular sized one since I have cats. It is pretty small. The blade is maybe 4 inches. It works well for our short haired cats. For Gris who has extremely thick hair, like a rabbit, it didn't work as well getting the undercoat. They all loved it, though--and those with cats know how that goes. The ShedEnder also comes with a "free" lint remover. It works pretty well. It costs $5 to ship, and it's hard to find one of the fabric type rollers that's round and not a paddle. For some reason, I thought it was a sticky type roller that was washable, but it isn't. It's still a nice lint remover, and you can never have too many.

DH ordered the ShedEnder for our cat. Will let you know how it works, she is obsessive compulsive about cleaning herself-ie hairballs all the time. I hope it works. If not, we will try the Furminator.

Our local TV station does a "try it before you buy it" segment once each week. They've tried many of the products mentioned here and lots more. Recently they reviewed the Shed Ender (works for some pets but not others) and the Auto Cool (doesn't work worth a darn).

Too funny, I was just thinking of you AND of this tv show!

I'm bummed about the Auto Cool - I wanted to get one for my parents.

The thing I bought that doesn't work? The Blooming Onion maker. There's about 168 parts and none of them fit together well.

Years ago I got some of those hooks that you can put anywhere using a suction cup. There was a lever that pumped the air out so the cup would stick. I put them up in my classroom and the next morning they were all on the floor. I never did figure out a way to make them work, and they went in the trash. They were advertised on TV, but I got mine at a discount store.

I use them in the shower to hang up my shower poofie :) . They're great for hanging up potholders, too. I have found that you need a completely flat & non-porous surface or they don't work. Was that maybe the problem? I also have to wet the suction cup for the shower ones once in a while & re-stick it but I've been happy with them.

I absolutely love my Magic Bullet. I use it every day for smoothies. It is so much easier to clean than the blender.

I'm underwhelmed with Space bags, they are just ok but tend to lose their seal pretty easily.

My DH and I are "as seen on TV" buying fools :D I'll try to remember some others...
