My loving aunt, who has way too much time on her hands sent me 5 forwards last night

1. FW: Subject:NEVER TRY TO OUTSMART A WOMAN

2. FW: too funny to keep to myself

3. FW: Rednecks Gone Wild !!!!!!!

4. FW: Fw: I WANT THIS BACK IT DOES WORK !! (always my personal favorite, LOL!)

5. FW: Fw: Land of the Free

Notice that she sends them in an unaltered state, and she sends 5 or 10 a day. If I say anything, it will damage our friendship, so I just delete, delete, delete...this is a daily thing. She then sends them to her sister, who in turn sends them to me as well. They also send them to my brother who then teases me by sending them to me, because he knows I hate them as much as he does. (He knows I have received from the two of them already, it's a joke with him)

If anyone would like to receive any one or all of these forwards, just supply me with your email address. I would love to send them to you. :D
I really hate to disapoint her, especially on the "I WANT THIS BACK IT DOES WORK" forward.

Thanks for listening to my little rant.

Maybe you could set up a "junk" email account and just have her send those forwards there so they're not clogging up your legit email. I have one of those and it really helps keep the spam out of my real email account.

Just a thought...

HEY! I have a JUNK EMAIL Account. I just recently told everyone to be on the lookout for my new email address, so I could sent her my JUNK Address...but then my other aunt and I write back and forth, along with receiving the FORWARDS for the second time...so that may not work....

Could you just designate all your aunt's email to go to one folder. I guess you still might feel the need to check it in case she is sending "real" emails. The ones that irk me are "friends" who never bother to email me unless it is a forward of some email. Actually, one of my sisters does this too.

Reply with your own important message, each and every time:

I know because Bill Gates told me about it right after he gave me $5000 for forwarding an email to 8 friends one of whom was the reincarnated Walt Disney who gave me a lifetime pass for four just for letting him know about Matt Sheffold/Sheppard/Stafford who has had six months to live for the last eleven years and his dying wish was for me to email 13 of my colleagues about a missing little girl whose mother sniffed a perfume sample and woke up in a tub of ice water with her kidney missing because a man got deathly ill from drinking gut-corroding Coca Cola and was scheduled to receive underground transplant surgery by a man who slashed a woman's ankles in the parking lot of the local Target but when the doctors tried to call her home to set up a follow-up visit they found out she'd died five years prior to the incident so he drove to her house and on the way he saw some people with their headlights out and he flickered his high beams at them resulting in a high speed chase followed by his brutal murder but he was going to die anyway because he stopped at a payphone to call the cops and decided to check for change and got stuck in the finger by an aids infected hypodermic needle.

some people just don't get it, even when you ask them to stop. i've even told one co-worker that her e-mails don't display properly on my mac, and that i get way too many junk e-mails and jokes that i don't have time to read. this STILL hasn't stopped her, so i hit "delete" on everything i get with a "FW:" at the beginning.

a few years ago, i sent out an e-mail to all of my friends saying that the ONLY time they should send me a forwarded joke is if they ACTUALLY laughed out loud or almost wet themselves...most of 'em got the idea. ;)

and i HATE it when people will forward you stuff but can't write a REAL e-mail or respond to one ever.

This is the problem. I actually told my sister to cut it out and she did. but for an aunt who is 70 years old, well......I just feel like it is disrespecting my elders.

I am happy that she has a computer and am thrilled that she knows how to use it.....but.......

I've got some cousins who do the same thing, I'll get from one than the others forward and I'm copied again. Got one this morning with some poem to read and stories about some chick who's fiance was in a car accident three days later because she read the poem and didn't forward it. I really hated that one, it's fine when they're silly angels wishing you joy or Today is Friends Day, but when it's threatening me if I don't forward?

I've e-mailed them all a few times asking not to send, but I still get them. I do like e-mailing normal stuff with them and that's the only way they keep in touch, so I let them go to my normal e-mail address. I never forward that stuff and delete immediately.

I've just decided it comes with the territory of giving out my e-mail address, and have worn the words off my delete key.

I know how you feel...those forwards sure are a pain, especially when there's the threat of "if you don't forward, something bad will happen".

If I had a loving 70-year old aunt who was with-it enough to use a computer, I think I'd just keep deleting the messages rather than confronting her about it.

I rarely ever read those forwarded messages; and I never send them to anyone else, even when I've been "threatened"! ;)

My aunt sends messages to me and to my mother with the forwarded messages. And then my mother sends them to me - so I'm getting it twice! Some of them I swear I've seen a million times. I know they are saying to themselves "oh, Barb will think this is cute" or "I know Barb will enjoy this one". Sometimes I read them, rarely do I forward them, and usually I just delete them. I have another aunt that sent me emails at my office when I was working in an office. I politely told her it was more or less against office policy and now I hardly ever hear from her. So, if you love your aunt, it's probably a good idea just to let her send away. Hey, at least she's thinking of you!

... we must have the same sister, too. :p I never hear from her unless she forwarding me something, or sending some hoax alert to me and her whole address book...
