I am a 41 yr old man, here to ask for your help ladies. Here's my story. I am 75lbs over where I should be. I get up at 3am and get home between 5&6pm. My wife works and gets home about 5:30. By the time we make dinner and eat (its 98% lowfat) 6:30 or 7:00 o'clock. Now thats to late toeat at night and we are too tired to exercise after words. Heres the kicker. I work for Hostess cake, and It's hard not to eat something off the truck. I take a lunch everyday, and this may sound funny, but I get bored. and all I want to do is eat. I take cheerios, skim milk, and left over dinner. I'm really not into eating fruit. I like citrus fruits, and McIntosh apples. But when I eat fruits or veggies, I don't feel saticfied. Any advice on exercising, and eating??? Thanks- Hopn2it

Would it help if you were able to make some recipes on the weekend that you could freeze and reheat? How much water do you drink. Maybe try drinking when you are bored instead of eating. The other thing that is key (altho it sounds as if you have an extremely tight schedule) is to build muscle so that even when you are not exercising you body is burning more calories. As tired as you are in the evening, you will get more energy from the exercising and the weight loss. There seem to be a lot of people on this board who have been very successful in losing weight. The fact that you are here seeking advice is a great start. Best wishes!

Seems to me that if you're eating a 98% low fat diet at home you're on the right track.
I too am not a big fruit eater..never could get excited at the thought of an apple or orange. But one way that I have found to enjoy fruit is to make fresh fruit salad; for some reason it tastes better cut up & mixed together. Why don't you try sticking licorice (the twizzler kind) or jujubes in the truck (they are almost zero fat content).
I agree with Laura about the need to exercise but I can see why it would be so difficult with your schedule. Could you manage a 20 minute walk after supper? You'd be surprised how even that small amount of time will help with your metabolism. And you can increase the time on the weekends.
I sympathize with you, I had a job that at times required 90 hours per week, and you almost have to be superman to fit everything in...but it can be done.
It all begins with one small step.....

98% low fat? How could you absorb your fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E &K) Maybe your body is telling you something about wanting the fatty sweets. You might want to consider adding a little fat into your meals (nuts, olive oil, margarine)this might help you feel more satisfied.

Ps even if you ate a 100% fat free diet it doesn't matter if you eat to many calories.

Thank you ladies for all the great tips. No I don't drink all the water I should. When I said 98% low fat fat I meant Low fat recipes for cooking light, low fat,no fat,so fat, ect.
As for the excercising I found an old vidio of my wifes by Susan Smith and it has three different, 20min workouts. I'm starting with toning. Well thanks again and I'll keep you posted. By the weigh (get it? haha) I weigh 295lbs I want to get down to 225lbs.
Thanks again Hopn2it
