MS Word question: PC document on a Mac

Ugh, I've never had a problem bouncing documents between a PC and Mac, editing them in one direction or the other. When I updated my résumé on my Mac (a professional résumé writer had created it on his PC) a year or so ago there was no problem. But when I went back months later to do further edits, the new text --which looks FINE on my screen-- just comes out as little boxes to other people. Re-keying this is going to be huge job: any thoughts on what's going on?

Are you using a font that's not being recognized? Just try switching it ... I think TrueType fonts should work.

I'll be interested to hear if you get a resolution for this issue because I posted about a similar one (swapping an Excel document back and forth between PC and Mac) about a month ago and we really didn't find an answer. Wish I could offer you some insight but hope someone else can. Good luck.
