Now that Pluto has officially been downgraded to an icy dwarf planet, the old mnemonic devices that we grew up using to remember the order of the planets (e.g., My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pies) are no longer valid. And so I challenge you, fellow CLBBers, to come up with the Next Big Thing--the mnemonic device that all our children will grow up using to remember the name of the planets.

Any ideas?

What's next? They're going to tell us that Doc wasn't really one of the Seven Dwarfs?

What's next? The earth really IS the center of the universe, or mice are higher beings? ;) :D

Of course, way back when (in the 80s), Pluto was a planet and to the saying he would add the word, "Pining."

I SWORE today that no one else used this one, that I was the only one I knew who used this phrase!! YAY! ... although, mine's slightly different. Learned it in third grade, thank you Mrs. Ramagli.

Mary's Violet Eyes Make John Stay Up Nights.

The "P" used to be "period," which always was an afterthought anyway. I can stick with the one I've known forever.

What I like is the new icy dwarf Xena which has a satellite circling it ...

Or "Permanently," a la Mrs Shannon. Strange woman, Mrs Shannon....used to read "The Raven" to her class every year (complete with gestures and "acting"), but quit doing that when she fell off her desk and into the trashcan....
