I usually have to be pretty sick not to exercise, but if I'm feeling bad, I just do an easier workout. The rule of thumb, though, is like Mrs. Reber said, don't exercise when you have a fever, because it can just make it harder to recover, but if you just have a cold or congestion, exercise is okay, and may make you feel better. Get well soon! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Or do you not exercise when you're feeling less than 100%? I've been really achey all over for the past few days and just can't motivate to the gym--feeling guilty that I am losing any progress I've built up so far, but I have a gut feeling that it's just not right for my body.
What do you all do when you're sick?

I would go with the gut instinct at this point, especially if you are achey- could be a flu! I have asked them about this at my gym. They told me you shouldn't exercise with a fever, but if you are congested (without a fever) sometimes some cardio work can actually help loosen it up. However, if you are exhausted from being sick, exercise is probably not a good thing! Feel better soon! Don't worry about the exercise so much, focus on getting better so you can resume your program.

I agree with Mrs. Reber on this one, always follow you gut instinct. Hope you feel better soon.
