first off, i'm glad to see angela go. she seems like a nice person, but she isn't cut out for this show. i've seen too many rosettes!!! even though it was mean, jeff had a point about her being "arts & crafts & macaroni gluings".

i was VERY glad to see him win. he put together an outfit that looked like a super pricey rockstar outfit. it was perfect. michael's was great too.

i can't believe vincent is still on. that outfit was SO blah....i thought it was funny how much the guy from calvin kline liked it.

uli is so talented, but she needs to branch out more. she makes the same dress with different prints.

the commercial for next week looked interesting, but i didn't like that i saw a lot of the outfits in it. they spoiled the fun a little there!!

on a final note, ladies and gentlemen, elvis is alive and well! hahahha :p

What a great episode.

I LOVE that they went to Paris! I was so surprised - and pleased. I love Paris.

Yes, I agree it was definitely Angela's time to go. And I predict Kayne's next. And then, it'll get really tough. Oh, wait. Then Vincent. But the final four - it's going to be one mistake and then poof!

I'm not even sure who I'm rooting for anymore. Definitely Michael, but I kind of like Laura. Yes, she can be a royal snob but ... I like her. Maybe that's the New Yorker in me. :) Although how weird was that shot in the previews with her shirt exposing her belly - she went from skeleton to showing in the span of two episodes! And even though Jeffrey can be a real jerk, it must be annoying to deal with people with little to no experience while you're under stress and trying to get a job done. [I can think of a teacher at my school having this problem with an assistant right now...]

Can't wait for next week and more Paris!

I think the final three will be Jeffery, Laura and my favorite- Michael. I really like the elegance of Laura's clothes- I could see her getting offered a job at Burberry, de la Renta or Channel. Did you see that her "for nuts" dress sold for nearly $2,000 dollars?! Crazy! But she can make anything look sophisticated.
Uli and Kayne have turned out to be disappointing. I am never one of the jet set but I at least know what one would look like! And I am a little sick of the "Poor me I'm from Ohio/ Oklahoma I dont know what to make." You're a fashion designer wanna be. You should have picked up a copy of W or Vogue before now. When will Kayne learn to listen to Tim?
Angela so had to go. Linen for a travel outfit? What was she thinking. I can't get linen to stay crisp through brunch! Also, enough with the rosettes. Didn't she figure out that the two times she didn't make her garment look like a doily she won or almost won! Get a clue. However, it was cruel of PR to send her all the way to Paris only to to kick her off. Bummer.
I do think she and her mother hammed up the criticism on the last episode to sink Jeffery which no other relative did, but Jeffery is such a tool for going on and on about it. Someone on the PR message board said Jeffery did not wear his garment on the plane to Paris? Did anyone notice? I am so unobservant it never occured to me to check.

Yeah, it was time for Angela to go. I wonder if she wears those pouf skirts on the farm? Still, Jeffrey was so mean and antagonistic towards her. Personally, I did not like his outfit. I can see why the judges liked his whole Lenny Kravitz look but I thought the pants were awful -- obscenely tight. Maybe they would have looked good on a male model. I am tired of Jeffrey's attitude and of looking at his neck but I suspect he will be in the top three. I think Laura should have won last night -- her dress was beautiful!

I thought it was cool they got to go to Paris. My DVR cut off during the preview for next week, so anyone willing to let me know what I have to look forward to?

As for last night, I think Jeffrey really deserved to win, his outfit was very well made and like Heidi said, it looked expensive. I also agreed that Angela went home, I have been over her for a while. Kayne is very very close to getting the boot I think. I am glad the judges are pushing Uli to make a different kind of dress, I really like her but have been unimpressed with her printed dresses lately. Before I saw last nights episode, I saw a quick preview from next week that showed Laura looking super preggo, how far along is she???

My favorite line of the night..."She's an art's and craft macaroni gluer".

I just watched last night's episode on DVR. Was also glad to see Angela go. I think Kayne's time is coming. I really like him, but I think Laura hit the nail on the head when she said his style just doesn't translate into high fashion. I think he has a great career ahead of him, but in designing for pageants, dancers, skaters, showgirls, etc. Costume design would be a great area for him.

I think the final three will be Michael, Laura and Ullie or Jeffrey. But I didn't get to see the preview for next week either (dang DVR!).

I wonder how long the "lockdown" portion of the competition actually lasts. Laura said she figured out she was pregnant while she was there--and considering her age and the fact that she wasn't expecting to be pregnant, it's possible she was already 2-3 months along before she even figured it out (might have attributed missed periods to stress or other factors). Also, as thin as she is, and with the fact that this is not her first child, she'd start showing pretty quickly. However, while you could definitely see some "tummy" in that dress, I though she looked neither pregnant NOR chubby (her words).

One final note: I'm starting to realize that walking down a runway is a lot more difficult than I thought. I thought last week the moms all looked bored, angry, or both--and I attributed to the clothes and the whole experience. But the designers looked pretty goofy doing it too. I thought Vincent looked like he was completely disappointed in his garment and sorry to be walking down the runway, but afterwards he said how good he felt. I wonder exactly how the models do it. Interesting!

jeff was wearing his outfit on the plane, he just didn't have the jacket on.

Jeffrey looked like a rock star in his outfit, but I can't stand him. He's just too rude for me. Therefore, I didn't want him to win. I hope he is NOT in the final three. He brags too much.

Laura's dress was very nice. I like Laura. I don't really think she's a snob. I also think that it travelled beautifully and could be worn just about anywhere and, therefore, should have won. Also, she is IMHO truly a talented designer and that should matter in the end. Everything she makes is beautifully crafted.

I love Michael. He is always so good at what he does. He thinks about it and the end result is great. I'm never disappointed in him.

I like Uli, but I'd like to see her do something different too. I didn't like the long dress for travel. I think Angela was a nice person, but enough with her designs. Ultimately, I was sorry to see her go. She has energy.

I'm ready to Vincent and Kayne to leave. Kayne never knows how to tone it down.

Robin- I was also fascinated by the designers walking. Loved michael's "I don't turn around. I stand and represent." coaching tip. Only Michael, Jeffrey, and in a distant third Laura looked good on the runway. Poor Kayne! that's an odd walk he has.

Laura continues to grow on me. I hated her on sight and now, I actually think I um, like her! I thought the dress last night was very nice and a very practical travel piece if you have that sort of always "dressed" style that she has. And I keep thinking about that black lace turtleneck think she was wearing a couple of shows ago. I want one. And last but not least, I was quite prickly about her comment on moms wearing sweats and driving the minivan (even though I do neither! :p ) But now every once in a while I'll see someone and think "That's what Laura's talking about). I don't even know myself anymore. ;)

cminmd - tool is the perfect description for Jeffrey. I think he won this challenge fair and square - I knew he would the second I saw his sketch. But ugh, stop with the smug self-satisfaction! And why does he have to be so gosh darned mean?!? He is wierdly passive aggressive because he'll say all kinds of stuff under his breath but then when called on it he'll say "How am I treating you?" or "I don't want to talk to you." Grow up.

I think the only reason Jeffrey really won is because he "fit his part", aside from how well the outfit was made and put together. Imagine if Vincent or even Robert, for example, had made the exact same thing. They never could have pulled it off the way Jeffrey was able to, which I believe was due to his multiple tattoos, piercings, and over all demeanor.

And I had to laugh at Angela. Here she was all excited about the challenge, more so than any of the other designers as evidenced by her whooping and shouting. Then, when they had to sketch, you saw this look of utter terror on her face and she interviews that "she lives on a farm, how does she know what jet setting is all about?" From that point, I was pretty sure she was going to be out.

I agree about Kaynes thing is designing for pageants and events and will be the next to go.

I liked Jeffreys and Michaels designs, it suited their personality to a T.

I think they all missed the underlying message of jet set and interpreted it mean rich people flying all over the world going ot parties , not what they would wear on a plane. I would have interpreted the same thing.

I like Ulis clothes, but she needs to expand, her clothes are all the same style which I love but I know the judges are looking for her to brnanch out too.

i went onto bravo's site to do the "rate the runway" and would once again like to express my disappointment with the photographer that they use. michael's outfit didn't even look white!! it's kida disappointing.

I'm so late responding to this thread that I think it's all been said! My favorite parts were: the look on Michael Kors's face when Angela turned around and showed the rosettes on her butt, priceless. And when Michael was showing Kayne how to walk on the runway, he said something like "walk like you mean it" and Kayne said, "But you're from the ghetto, I'm from white trash."

Also loved seeing Daniel V's spot, because I had just been thinking during the opening credits that I missed seeing his funny little walk from last season's opening credits!

Michael must win!

The expression on Michael Kors face when Angela showed her the rosette butt would make a good screencap. He looked like smelled a f*rt!

Also am I the only one who thinks it's hypocritical that Robert get's booted for being boring but Vincent gets to stay with the most boring outfit EVER!?

No because the judges take past performance into account.

Vincent's outfit might have been boring this time but his designs aren't generally boring -- don't forget he won last week -- or the week before.

The Calvin Klein rep liked it a lot and it also made sense from a travel point of view so he wound up with points whereas Angela's was a disaster from a style and function point of view -- completely misunderstood the directions.. As between Angela and Vincent, Angela's was more of a complete disaster.

I just rewatched this episode since I missed the end. I have just one question...

Where did that T-shirt of Jeffrey's come from? I heard him talking about making pants and a jacket and i saw that material for them, but nowhere was a t-shirt mentioned. I find it hard to believe he made the glittery skull and crossbones design he had on. Did I miss something? Did he actually make that too, or was it something he owned already? If it was something he owned, that seems just a tad unfair to those to totally made their whole outfit. Michael was going to make a jacket and just wear a white t-shirt underneath as well, when Tim expressed his concerns he changed it on the spot.

I could be wrong but I think several designers wore stuff that was made that day like the rhinestone belt that spelled out Kane. I also didn't see Angela making that hideous bag.

I thought Tim's comment to Michael was based more on the look being more boring -- i.e. a jacket over a t-shirt but who knows as so much is edited out.

Well, I know they do have access to the "Macy's Accessory Wall" in the workroom, which is where I figured Angela got the bag (and I recall her saying was her favorite part of the whole outfit - yeah, you put a lot of work into that one, didn't you???). The belt...I don't know. I doubt the wall would have had that. And while it wouldn't surprise me in theory that Kanye owns that belt, at the same time I can't believe someone would actually own something like that.

Besides, those two things are accessories, they accent the outfit. The t-shirt is an item of clothing, so I still can't explain it.

i thought he glued rhinestones into a skull shape.

I'll bet they have access to stick-on or glue-on rhinestones. That's not so complicated. Making a simple black t-shirt's not that complicated either. I'm sure someone (other than us!) is making sure they're following the rules!!!

SheRa

my boss thought it was a skull applique, and i said that i didn't think they'd do that. it wouldn't take a TON of time for someone with that much talent to stick rhinestones into a pattern.

::BUMP::

it's on again tonight!! and sadly, i won't be home to watch (but i will be at a concert, so it should still be a fun night!), so i've set up my dv-r and hopefully i'll get to watch it before tomorrow, but i dunno. i'll be sure to have a drink (or two, or three...) in the spirit of PR night anyhow though :D
