Funny bus story.

Today, as I was driving along, I heard a discussion among a third grader and his seat mates, and heard my name mentioned and so I listened in and heard my gray hair mentioned.

I said, what are you talking about guys? The 3rd. grader piped up and said "What color was your hair last year? I told him it was blonde. He said "Well, I liked it better blonde that I do now. What color is it now?"

I told him it was gray and I asked him why he didn't like the gray. He said:
The gray makes you look like a grandmom. I liked it better when you looked like a mom.

Now I'm wondering......

My father was a scout master and all three of my brothers were in his troop at one time or another. My father said one time, the best part of it all was driving his van and listening to the conversations of all the scouts.

I'm sure it must be similar for your - but I bet you never thought they'd be discussing your hair color !!

So do you think you'll color it????

I had something similar happen (about being "old") that made me chuckle.

My 6 yr old nephew rides BMX bikes at this dirt racetrack. Since I have started to ride my bike to work I said I think I may race him next time he goes. He said, "They don't let old ladies race!" I had a good laugh at that one.

We started school on Tuesday. My husband and I were at school over the weekend doing last minute preparations. We walked to a local Subway and one of my students saw us. He raised his hand in school on Tuesday and asked, " I saw you walking to Subway with a man, was that your father or your husband?" He then said to the student next to him, "He was really gray, she isn't." ;) I only told my husband that the student saw us walking to Subway, I think it would have hurt his feelings if I told him the rest of the story ~

All cute stories. Thanks for the chuckles.

Not right now. Right now, I am not too fond of being gray, but I don't know if it is the growing out of the hair, as she gave me an aweful cut, or if it is the color. So! I am going to wait until I have a hair style that I like and see if that is the problem, or if the problem is the gray.

I will probably know in about 5 or 6 months. Until then, it is just wait and see. It was too hard letting it grow out to do something before I have the hair style I was going for.

I thought his comment was sweet, though.

And yes. Listening to their little conversations is a lot of fun. I seat according to grade..... the little ones always have a lot to say! :D
