I did not see a Sept thread yet. ;)

I just got an email from Magknits and their new issue is out. There are a few cute things including several socks:

http://www.magknits.com

I LOVE Honorine! I also wanted to post a picure of Apple from the site. There are lots of people here that like to make baby gifts. I thought this was just ADORABLE!! They say it is simple:

Still plugging away on my Lotus Blossom tank. I finished the lace part and I am going to start the stockinette tonight.

Happy knitting everyone!

Oh! I love that Apple! I have two friends having babies come next February. Maybe I should try this!

Other than that, I am working on my second sock.

Of the pair that I started on New Year's Eve.

That's right folks, nine months later, I'm STILL. NOT. DONE.

:D

I'm working on a plain-old ribbed scarf for DH. That's what he wanted so it's nice mindless knitting (unlike Lady Eleanor which is still going). He did pick out a really nice colorway of 127 Print wool. I'll get a picture up if people are interested... I've never worked with it before but it's knitting up really nicely.

ErinM- I'm right there with you on the socks with my Lady Eleanor (well not quite nine months ;) ) but I'm trying to remember that the Lady is going to be beautiful and it's not quite the weather for her anyway! Maybe set the goal to wear your socks this New Year's Eve and it'll take the pressure off! :)

The baby is definitly creepy!
I finished another market bag for MIL and started a hobo chic for cousin-in-law. The socks on circular are still sitting there (guess that says what I think of the technique, huh  ) with just the toes done.

I did take a spinning class and have 2oz of handspun alpaca. I think I might make a hat or something and use it as a border on the bottom?

It turns out that I may have a smidge of the harlot's power. I mailed the sweater (with turtles) to SIL and she opened it Tuesday night. Her water broke Wednesday morning :) --and my nephew made his appearance 2 weeks early!

Also does anyone know of charities that could use wool? I found out our teaching sheep our shorn and the wool tossed  , the dept head said if I can find someone who wants it we can donate...

Hope everyone gets some done this weekend (it's cool enough-only 44 here right now!)!

Apple = cute!
Baby = creepy!

LOL! 'Tis true, though.

Well, Wild Stripes got finished mere hours before I gave it to my sister. I was really happy with how it turned out, and she seemed to like it. I always get nervous toward the end of a project that I'm giving away, and I'm afraid that the recipient won't like it.

Here are some pictures:

Up next are Tulip Toes from the most recent Knitty, for a friend whose baby was a month old yesterday. That kind of brings my gift-knitting to an end, and I'm looking for some project ideas for ME. Maybe a pair of socks or something. I'm going to look for some hat patterns for my kids and make hats for them this winter. I'll have to see what strikes my fancy. :)

Lara, great job on wild stripes!

I've finished a couple of baby hats recently. (Free pattern Moe from Berroco.com) Those are always very well received, and they only take 2-3 evenings of work to do. My niece loved her little sister's so much she wants one for Christmas. We'll see how my other Christmas projects are coming along.

I'm currently flying along on Fuzzy Feet. I love them! They work up so quickly! I was showing DH my progress last night and I think he now understands why I'm so obsessed with finishing them. I really thought turning the heel was a kick. What fun.

Lara -- The Wild Stripes is fantastic! All your careful time and effort have really paid off.

Erin -- that Moe pattern is soooo cute!

I'm still on my pink baby blanket. But since the baby isn't due til Dec, there's no giant hurry. Good thing, too, because I'm buying the yarn in pieces -- just not worrying too much about dye lots.

In the meantime, I've gotten a little of the dishcloth fever! I made my first one yesterday in this design, but in white:

http://www.jimsyldesign.com/~dishbout/kpatterns/diamondsgalore.html

I knitted and felted a couple of potholders and thought I'd knit up 2 or 3 dishcloths to take as a hostess present this weekend. I thought I'd include some fancy-schmancy Williams-Sonoma dishsoap, but I'm not sure if I want yet one more thing I can't take as carryon! I also need to start another pair of socks, so I have some easily portable airplane knitting -- the baby blanket is getting too big to haul around easily.

If I get a chance, I'll post some pix.

Lisa, THANK YOU! for the Mag Knits site! It's awesome. I adore every single pattern on the page, I'll dream about them tonight. So then I went into the archives, and I don't think I'll live long enough to knit everything I saw there that I love.

I have often wished I had a pattern for mittens that opened up into fingerless gloves. And, here they are! The designs are just great.

Lara, your stripes are gorgeous.

You are welcome Tangerine! I really like that site too (I have quite a few things I want to make from there).

I am coming along on the Lotus Blosson tank...I may even be able to wear it this year :D . I have 4 inches of the stockinette finished in the body. I have just a bit more and then I start the armholes. Woohoo! Now I just hope the darned thing is going to fit

Thanks for the compliments. I use dpns. The pattern is actually very simple. If you 'google' Melanie's Twist sock pattern you will come up with the website where the pattern is a freebie. It's on the sidebar of a blog.

The pattern looks much more complicated than it is. One tip ....the inc 1 should be a make 1 from the row below, not a knit in front and back of a stitch. The count won't work right if you USE a stitch to do the increase.

Other than that ....simple as pie.

I thought several things were cute, but I've got too much going on right now to really get excited about anything.

My fuzzy feet are coming out great. It took me less than two weeks to do one sock. I just haven't had a chance to cast on #2. I've got knitting group tonight, so I should be able to make some good progress. After they are finished, I've got 3 scarves to bang out for Christmas. Then I'll look at other projects: Socks for DD, hat and mittens for DD, a tank that got abandoned before I got it all cast on...

Yep. These are my version. I'm not sure how she did her increase 1. You have to do it without using a stitch on the needle. So, I did a make 1 in the row below *without* twisting the stitch. So I got a little "lacy-effect" that I didn't notice in the pattern picture. I kept it because I liked the look.

Check these out!:

Knit spats (http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=1619&itemType=CATEGORY&path=1,3)

I think they are cute as heck. I may just have to get a long pair of boots this year! I need to see if I can find a pattern but they look pretty simple to do without one too!

I am seeing a lot of knitted accessories and clothing this year (even more than last year!)

(I have been put on hold on the phone a lot this week so I have been able to do some extra surfing...hehehe! :D )

hmmmm...not sure why that link is taking us to a strange page?

editing again: It wont link to the product page but I changed the link to go to a main page that has the spats on it too.

Oh, Lisa, I would adore a pattern for those spats!

I just made a lovely little thing--a knit bookmark with a hidden "pocket" for a pencil. I just love it. I think the next time I would add some elastic thread to the knitting, to make it stretchy. I used lime green Sugar and Cream, and sewed a little pink ribbon rose with lime green "leaves" on it.

I'm using some Regia 4-ply confetti in white with lots of different colored speckles. I think the socks would be awesome in a thicker yarn, but this is called "using what I've got so I can buy more." :)

I keep telling DH I'm stocking up just in case "lean times" come. At least I'll be able to keep myself entertained by "shopping in my stash". :D

(I'm not sure he's buying that line of reasoning, but he's a good sport about it ....just shakes his head every time another bag of yarn appears. He golfs so he knows all about "hobby addiction".)

I am envious that you have 3 projects that you have completed in 2 weeks  .

I have to admit that I am really glad that Thursday night TV has started up (Office, Gray's Anatomy, ER) 2 1/2 hours of NO ONE SAYING A WORD TO MAMA...OR SHE WILL GET (really) UPSET! (not really but I threaten it :D )
