I purchased the product advertised on TV, Aussie NADS hair removal gel. It might be great for a lot of people, but it has caused ugly injuries to the skin on my legs. I followed all of the directions to the letter, but most of the hair wasn't even removed. Several hours later the skin on my legs was still sore (painless - in your dreams!), I was shocked to find my calves are a mass of purple and red mottled bruises. It is especially bad along the back of the calves. I do have very fair skin and bruise easily, but there were no warnings on this product that fair-skinned people shouldn't use it. And I really, really did follow the manufacturer's instructions. The bruises are so bad that it is one week since it happened and I see no improvement yet. I'm getting scared! Don't waste your money on this junk.
Wow! This sounds awful! I saw the ad and was intrigued but never got any further than that. Do they have any type of guarantee? I would ask them to return your money! I hope you heal soon!!!

Thanks for the info Pat58! You should call the manufacturer and possibly the better business bureau. In the meantime, I'll add that to my list of products to not buy!

I was just watching a NADS infomercial and saw the product on a magazine sounded like a great idea no more cuts shaving. Did any of you contacted the co telling them what happened? I would since sounds like it should come with a warning. I guess I won't order it now.

I did send it back and demanded my account be credited. I sent a letter along explaining what it did to me and that I have photos. I'll follow up and post a bulletin if I experience any problems from this company!
I bought the NADS product and tried it on my eyebrows and legs. When I used it on my legs it was very painful and did not remove even half of the hair. On my eyebrows it is wonderful!!!!
I did not get any bruises, but my legs were red for several hours.
I continue to use it on my face only- no problems there.

If the bruises still haven't improved, a trip to your doctor might be wise. I would also take some extra Vit C. Something I have used for my 2 boys when they get bad bruises in arnica.
Arnica is a plant extract, sold in many GNC stores, health food stores, on-line and saw it this week at Walmart's pharmacy. You can take it tablets or liquid internally or apply it topically as a cream or gel. I have used mostly the gel, and I try to use it, along with ice, right when they get the bang. It really helps keep the inflamation and bruising down. My 4 yr old had to go to a hand surgeon this summer when his finger was smashed in a door. I found out that he recommends arnica to many of his patients. I don't know if it would help as much this much later, but I don't think it could hurt.

UPDATE: So far this company has not credited my account or mailed me a refund even though the product is guaranteed - what they did do is enroll me in some stupid "beauty club" that I am having a terrible time trying to cancel out of before they attach installment payments to my credit card, and get this - NADS has mailed me "diet pills" that "flush the fat out of your body before it is digested" (PLEASE - anybody on this forum knows this a alot of BS) which I have had to mail back. What is NADS going to do next, put an IRS lien on my house? I rue the day I responded to that stupid infomercial.

Pat58,
I would call your credit card company and explain to then what happened, (perhaps submit a copy of the letter to them) and put the charges in dispute, along with any charges from the "beauty club". If your credit card company is as reputable as most claim to be they will reverse the charges or at least work with you on this. Good Luck Ann

I agree...definitely deal with your credit card company on this. Call them first and let them know what you're disputing, then see if they want you to mail them copies of the money back guarantee statement, any written correspondence you've sent or received related to the issue, etc. Be sure to let them know that the beauty club thing was completely unsolicited.
Also, I'd think about contacting either the Better Business Bureau or a consumer protection agency.

I got NADS from Walgreens a while ago, I'm going to try to return it. It didn't take off any hair on my legs!

The saga continues: I have been in contact with my credit card company. They told me to wait and see what happens on the next statement. NADS charged $45.00 for the "diet pills" I mailed back and $85.00 for the so-called "Health & Beauty Club" which I cancelled out of, never ordered anything from and never received any products! I got a stop payment verification and am sending it in with all my evidence, but it is an awful pain. I've never had to deal with such an unscrupulous company. I am taking this to the Dept. of Consumer Protection to conduct an investigation, next.
