I Hate It When People Foward Bogus Warnings. I Have Even Done It Myself A Coule Of Times -- But This One Is Real And Very Important.
Please Beware!
If Someone Comes To Your Front Door Saying They Are Checking For Ticks Due To The Extremely Hot Weather And Asks You To Take Your Clothes Off And Dance Around With Your Arms Up.
Do Not Do It!
It Is A Scam!!
They Only Want To See You Naked.
I Only Wish I Had Received This Warning Yesterday. I Feel So Stupid. really Stupid. Where Is Snopes.com When You Really Need 'em?

I'm afraid my homeowner's insurance would have to pay the bills for treatment of their blindness.:D

Really? People fall for this one? If someone came to my door saying something as outrageous as that I'd probably be in the hospital from falling on my a** laughing so hard!

Thank you for this timely warning, Joyce!
I know it's true because a guy I work with told me his cousin's college roommate has a daughter whose friend was taken in by this miscreant! Or maybe it was his friend's daughter's college roommate. Either way, it came from a Very Reliable Source, to be sure. Poor girl, and she'd just gotten done burying her neighbor's pet rabbit. But that's another thread.

ROTFLMAO! While it could be the 2 glasses of wine I've had I find this funnier than the original post...please tell me for my own sanity that this is really a farce!

How's that exactly? I questioned the fact that people have fallen for it so how did I fall?

Joyce was poking fun of bogus scam warnings..
At least I saw it as totally tongue in cheek.
Am I right?

Hint: I don't have a job
But Joyce's post gave me a big laugh! She and I have both posted about hating a) urban legends and b) when people feel compelled to propogate them. My eyes were first opened when, in college, I inadvertently passed one along to a classmate. "Ohmygaw!! my cousin was at that SAME wedding!!" (and he was totally sincere. I, on the other hand, was completely embarassed).

:o Now I can't tell if you're pranking me! But here goes - No one has gone to anyone's door issuing tick warnings. So if someone believes Joyce's "warning" and thinks that someone has, then they've fallen for the prank. But maybe I'm misreading you. :)
