I just visited a sports physio the other day and it was a very positive experience! Our coach had brought her in for a seminar earlier in the year, and many of my running buddies go to her. I decided to go see her to have my strengths and weaknesses confirmed, and to get some customized tips and strengthening exercises.
We spent over an hour chatting about everything related to movement and strength, and she checked my flexibility and strength in many, many different ways. She also analyzed my running style and physical strengths and weaknesses, told me that I was doing a lot right (thank goodness!), and recommended some additional key exercises. I m going to go back to her periodically and also start some massage therapy.
Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone else might be interested in the idea of seeing a sports physio. You don t need to have a specific injury to get something out of it. Recommended!
