Let's start a supper club! We live in Highland and would like to share our love for good food and conversation with others of like-mind. Let's get together to cook, drink and have fun together!

My husband and I would be interested in joining. We are in Edina so hopefully that won't be too far from you.....

I'd like to clarify our philosophy on cooking. We use a couple recipes from the CookingLight Magazine a month. I also use Mexican, Indian, and Italian cookbooks and borrow recipes from others. So, you might say, I’m not committed to making this a light-only group.
We have three responses for a total of 6 people. I think we may want to have more, maybe 10. We'd have better odds of more hands to help each time we get together.
Thoughts on this? Has anyone experienced a supper or cooking club prior to this?

I like your philosophy. I am similiar in the way we cook...pretty much anything that catches my eye rather than following any one regimen. I have not been a part of any other club but did get a mailing from Cooking Light that poses good questions to think about such as..
;) How will the menu be decided? Will the menus be themed?
;) Will each member pay for his/her own dish or the total cost of the meal be divided among all club members at each meeting?
;) what are the responsibilities of the host?
;) Do any of the members have food allergies?
;) Who will be responsible for getting a copy of the recipes to everyone after each meeting?
;) Alcohol or no alchohol....(I am definitely in favor of! Wine and food...two of my most favorite things!) If there is alcohol, how will cost be handled?
Just some "food" for thought!

These are some good guidelines. Lets get together and discuss expectations and guidelines for a supper club.
I can suggest two possible dates that work for us now -- Saturday, October 7 and Saturday, October 14. We're thinking about a cocktail hour meeting -- say 5-6:30 or 7:00 PM.
Sound good?

That sounds great to me. Maybe we could all bring a little appetizer of our choice to help kick things off.
Just one question--Do you mean September to get together? Or do you really mean October?

I really mean October! That's just 3 short weeks away. Which Saturday works for you--the 7th or the 14th?
And, yes, please bring an appetizer of your choice. We'll provide wine and beverages.

The 14th definitely works better for me. Thanks for offering to host!

I could do either date. I have an appetizer in mind already--Marinated Mozzarella.

This is coming up soon! Why don't you email me offline and I'll send you our address and directions?
