We are down to very few (as Pat said, "the few, the proud") who "weigh-in", so to speak, each week. Where is everyone (I realize the holidays keep everyone busy but....)???
Please consider participating even if you are struggling. I haven't accomplished nearly what I had planned (meaning I haven't lost any weight), but I know I'm much better off than I would have been - this board keeps healthy thoughts in my head and keeps me getting to the gym.
I hope to hear from you all! Any ideas on other things we can do to motivate each other? We are trying to get a chat going with the cooking members, and I think I can add a separate chat for the healthy living members as well. Let me know if you are interested!
lindrusso, I've noticed that the numbers on this weekly thread are decreasing. I was excited about this when you started it, but am not exercising right now - this is a personal decision based on yo-yo exercising over the last several years. I am now focused on weight loss through changing eating habits (WW) and teaching myself how to cook using CL. I found that the thread were very focused on exercising - which right now is not something I can focus on. Hope I don't appear to be selfish on this one. Once I have the food portion of my life under control, I hope to add in exercise, but it may be several months.
Good luck and healthy living to all of you.

Hi Alysha- I was not able to communicate most of last week as I was at my parents and didn't want to take time from them and spend it on the computer.
The week before I actually decided to take a break away from the computer (I needed to in order to have some integrity with my kids about them spending too much time here http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif)
Anyway, I hope everyone does not stay away simply because the holidays make it tough. I know I will be bad from time to time, but I hope to do well enough that when New Year's comes I am able to get back into the routine with vigor!

jd - I think that what you're doing makes sense. If you try to change everything in your life all at once, it's very overwhelming. If you focus on one thing and do it often enough, it becomes a habit and you don't even think much about it anymore. Then you can move on to the next thing, make that a habit, etc.
Not to sound patronizing or critical in any way, but I wouldn't want to put off the exercise too long (even if it's just a little bit of exercise like a 30 minute walk a couple of times a week) because it has so many other health benefits other than weight-loss! Healthy heart, healthy bones, etc., etc.
Good luck and please join in when you can or feel the topic is relevant!
Laura - I know what you mean about a computer break - I keep thinking I need to lock up my computer cabinet for a few weeks!!
Lindrusso (I see it's Alysha?) I think it would be really neat to have a live chat.I remember that being a possible option when you got us started way back in August!
I too draw support just reading everyone's replies and it would be fun to do it in "real time". It looks like maybe the numbers are back up from the weekly thread replies today-I think the interest is still there!!!!
