In looking through Dec. CL I saw an ad for Sportbrain in the back of the magazine. It says that you put it on your waistband while runnning/walking and it records your effort and then you can input it into your computer. The price is comparable to some heart monitors and I have been in the market to purchase one. Does anyone know if this has similar features? I am not sure how it could being attached to your waist but what effort is it recording if your heart rate is not part of it? Maybe it's just a fancy pedometer. Anyone have info?

Laura,
Rosie was giving these away on her show today so I tried to listen to the details so I could answer your post! It does sound like a fancy pedometer. It records how many steps you take - you then plug it into the computer and it will tell you how many steps and record it for you. You get prizes for reaching certain levels. Rosie was shocked because one of her staff members recorded about 13,000-20,000 per day (I think????) and she only recorded just over 800! I guess it can help you keep motivated, but as far as I can see, it had nothing to do with heart monitoring. It was so funny that she had that on today - I had just read your post!!

Thanks Alysha. I don't think I will get this then. I am more concerned with how long I go, and how hard I work I as opposed to how far. But thanks for looking into it.
