Hooray. I had dropped one more pound when I did my Sunday weigh-in (just a home scale). Cranking up the cardio part of my workout is really helping. Here's wishing everyone a fabulous week.

Hello! I guess I did okay this week. I met my goal with excercising and did well controlling my portion sizes at dinner. However, I didn't do so well with my snacks. I did weigh myself this morning and found I had gained 3 pounds. Thanks to this board, I didn't freak out because I learned last week that it was just about impossible to gain 3 pounds in a week. I think it is my normal pms water weight gain, so I will try to improve on my snacking and keep working out.

Thanks for getting us started Jessica and congratulations on your success!
I have not had my weigh-in at the Y yet, but I'm pretty confident it's good news, judging from the way my clothes fit. I fit in 4 visits to the gym, though some were quite short, but I did get there! I was also very busy, so that helped - less time to eat!
This week I have two parties that will likely be full of GREAT food, so in the spirit of Natasha's poem, I plan to indulge, but maybe I'll add a 5th day at the gym to compensate!
Hope everyone else is hanging in there!

That worked for me at Thanksgiving. I ate more than usual but did treadmill work at the hotel. I did not lose any weight that week but I did not gain any, either.

Last week I was very good exercising. Ran 3x and did the bike/stairmaster another and lifted 3x. But boy did I eat. I ate everything and in large portions. Very very bad. Hope to do better this week but those Christmas M&M's and Rolos I bought for the kids and guests sure aren't helping! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/eek.gif

I managed to work out three times last week & twice already this week. The scale isn't moving much, but at least I feel like I'm DOing something!

Wow - everyone sounds like they are doing great over this difficult holiday season so far. Keep up the good work!!!
I managed to meet my exercise goals for last week--cardio three times and two sessions of weightlifting from my VCR. I've been a slow starter this week--just did my first cardio today--but will hopefully keep up the good work.

Good news at the gym today...I'm down another 1/2 pound this week. However, between my cookie exchange on Monday, my recipe club today (full of great but fattening food) and a party this weekend, I'm in for a BIG challenge this week!!!!!
Wow! Congrats Jessica, Lindrusso, Kerri, Laura, Mommyw, and MightyH!
What inspiration! I ended up doing better than I thought after the first set of holidays and didn't gain anything (I'm looking at that as positive vs. lamenting that I didn't loose). I was actually able to fit into yet another pair of jeans in the back of my closet. They were a bit snug but I could get them on!!! I've only been able to make it to the gym twice but it's better than nothing. We got lots of new equipment since they finished a new addition to the Y and I may try switching to the eliptical trainers (I think that's what they were) to see if maybe that won't jump start this plateau I'm stuck in. Ok-I ramble... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif

Good Morning Everyone!
I've missed the board for the last few weeks - I'm glad to see that everyone is still hanging in!
I've been keeping with my gym workouts. However, I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks; a couple of weeks back I gained 3 lbs even after going to the gym and eating right. Talk about depressing! Anyway, I decided that I wasn't going to weigh-in for a couple of weeks and just go by how my clothes fit. I did buy a new pair of jeans over the weekend and they are 2 sizes smaller than what I was wearing when we started this group in October. yeah!
Kerri - I like the comment about it being impossible to gain 3 lbs in a week - I wish I had read that when it happened to me.
Congratulations Andi - fitting into the old clothes always makes you feel better! I have "the" pair of pants that I used to wear at least once a week before the kids were born. When those pants fit, I'll be bouncing off the wall.
I'm going to keep my gym workouts going and hopefully not gain anything while being surrounded by all the good food. Good luck to everyone this week!

Boy am I having a rough time! Between the holidays, winter blues and wrapping up my Business Law II class (not to mention full-time job, etc.) I've been slipping but hanging on by my fingernails. I still get in a workout when I can, but it is very hard to get up mornings. I get so fatigued in the winter. Just do the best I can!
At my Weight Watchers job I had to spend extra time preparing for the unveiling of the new "Winning Points" program which starts next week. It looks great. Unfortunately, by the time I got out of there and squeezed in a much needed workout, there was no time for Christmas shopping. I agree with The Grinch - I hate it!
