If you were keeping track, you might say "Kim, shouldnt you be starting week 3?"

Well, you are right, but the last week of school before xmas break is so hectic....

Anyway today did 5 minutes run, 2 minutes walk etc. for 30 minutes. The first 5 were kind of hard (I figured because it has been a week), but the next 2 were AWESOME! I grew impatient for the 2.5 minutes of walking to be over so I could jog again.

However, http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif by the time I got to the last 5 minute run, I was so tired I didnt think I would make it. I feel great now, though (been hungrier that usual). In fact, I was energetic to want to go again this afternoon, but felt I would be pushing my luck...

Thanks for all the support!

ps...got Jan issue of runners world form secret santa at work...it is a GREAT mag!

Kim,

Thanks for the update, and good going! I wouldn t feel at all bad about being tired by the last 5-minute stint. That s real progress, and it will get easier. And it sounds like you re getting the running bug since you wanted the walk break to be over! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif It was smart of you, though, not to go out again this afternoon, as two of the biggest problems beginning (okay, not only beginning) runners face are injuries and burnout from doing too much, too soon. Much better to increase distance and speed gradually http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Well, hang in there during that last week of school, and keep us posted!

Oh, yeah, glad to know you liked the Jan. issue of RW! There were a lot of good tips and articles in that issue, IMHO. Get your DH to read the guide to great foot massages - you deserve one!!

Kim-

Yea!!!!! Glad to hear that the running is still going, and that it was fun for you. I completely understand that desire for the walking time to be done so you can start running again! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Thanks so much for the update... I often wonder how things are going for you. Gina
