Any thoughts?

I had not really thought about events leading up to 9/11. I mean I heard about them many times, but was focused on the Towers, the Pentagon and the plane that went down in PA, that I didn't focus on everything that led up. I have been rivited to the TV and have taped it for later watching.

I chose to watch CBS's special instead and it has been amazingly moving and included footage from inside the towers and focused on one firehouse where two brothers happened to be making a documentary that day and filmed the story as it unfolded. (Apparently it has been shown before)

Robyn - I watched the documentary about the fire fighters last night. I was so touched. Unfortuantely, I couldn't stay up later than 10:00, so I missed the ending. Prior to that, I watched the story on 60 Minutes about the kids who lost parents on 9/11. I sat there and cried.

Hmmm, if I'm not mistaken, that's the "docudrama" [barf] where "liberties" were taken to create a more "compelling" and "dramatic" story of the events of 9/11 ... facts be damned. Where both the Bush and Clinton administrations took exception to the content because of the program's fabrications of events and conversation.

I'm sooooo glad I don't watch television "news"/"teledrama".

We DVR'd it and watched the first hour or so. So far so good. It starts at the time of the first WTC bombing in 1993.

The ABC "docudrama" is so heavily fictionalized and invented that nearly everyone who is depicted has taken issue with it. PLEASE don't think this film is anything close to the truth, and please don't form opinions based on what it shows or implies.

The best thing you can do is ignore it and refuse to dignify it with your viewership.

I make it a point to avoid all the docu-dramas about major events such as 9/11 or celebrity type stories (Lady Diana, Jon Benet, etc.) I heard that both Democrats and Republicans were complaining about this docu-drama, and I thought geesh...nobody said it was non-fiction! Consider it told in the genre of James Fey's memoirs!

I refused to watch this movie. Too much of the American public is gullible enough to believe it. Geez...if it's on tv, well, gosh, darn, it must be the truth. <sigh>

I personally liked the fact that the Manning brother football game kicked this movie's rear! BIG TIME! :D I think the CBS show may have also had more viewers.

By the way, American Airlines is already threatening a lawsuit. They were portrayed in the movie as having questionable security. Turns out it wasn't AA at all..but US Air. $$ KaCHING $$!!! Go AA! I'd love to see them kick a major Mouse corporation right where it hurts. :D

I heard that both Democrats and Republicans were complaining about this docu-drama, and I thought geesh...nobody said it was non-fiction! Consider it told in the genre of James Fey's memoirs! The thing is, nobody said it was fiction, either, and with a name like "Pathway to 9/11", and a statement that it's based on the 9/11 Commission report, it's understandable if many people think it's true. I don't think people are gullible, but they are being misled. Go AA!

Edited to add: come to think of it, didn't Disney do the same thing with "Hidalgo" a couple of years ago?
