good morning!

Today I ran to the gym (2 miles), did some upper body and ab work, and ran home. Only problem was, halfway home, my calf started screaming louder and louder. I stopped running and was walking when my DH drove by and rescued me.

The last time I ran, I felt this pain at the very end of the run, but then it went away. I don't know what it could be. It runs up the outside of my calf, from my ankle almost to my knee, most intensely painful near the knee.

Went for a 3 mile run when I got home this afternoon, then about a 1/2 mile walk with the dog to cool down.

Good job with your run and weight workout Martha! You have a good system going with running to and from your gym so you can get in a cardio workout, too. Hope you figure out what's up with your calf...it sounds painful. Have you mentioned it to your trainer?

Who else has something to report? We're all ears! :D

Martha - hope your calf is feeling better. That sounds pretty painful :(

Kathy - are you scheduled to run any races this fall?

I am MIA for a couple of days - I'm on a canning binge :D Today was jalapeno jelly for Christmas gifts, and tomorrow is pickled green beans. I am thinking of some peaches or pears and fruit cocktail as well. I have never done any preserving but got all of Mom's canning gear and lots of jars when she cleaned out her pantry. Might as well make use of them! Plus, I'll be happy I did all the work when winter rolls around...

I'll see you in a couple of days!

Sheila,

Your canning project sounds great! I had a friend who had me over one day for canning. I had never done it before. It's a lot of fun to do with an ambitious friend. You will definitely enjoy the "fruits" of your labors later on this winter.

I suspect my calf pain may be due to my bike shoe not being aligned correctly with the pedal. This came to me last night as I was tossing and turning. Who knows. I took today (Wed.) off from exercise and will try again on Thurs.
