Hi there everyone http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I'm new to the community, and a big BIG fan of CL! Two years ago I discovered the magazing, but this last June I really committed myself to cooking CL or other low fat recipes for myself and my family. Since June, just with the cooking better, I've lost 20 pounds. BUT..here's the kicker...I've got to start excercising again (ugghhhh!lol). Where to start though? While I'm not in terrible shape, I'm certainly not an athletic person. I stay at home with my twin toddlers, and without a second car, getting to the gym is just impossible. Soooo..my question is..is there a workout video/DVD that is good for beginners, that isn't as goofy as all get out? lol http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif Any help at all here would be appreciated. I just have no idea where to start!

Congratulations, LAS!! Your progress is great, I cannot imagine what you must have overcome. I just wanted to recommend my favorite videos--while they may not provide a great aerobic workout, I have found that they really help with how you feel, mentally and physically, and also have really improved my overall tone. They are Ali McGraw's yoga, and yogazone's tapes for beginners as well as for stress release. Good luck, and have a Merry Christmas!

I don't really use tapes at home anymore, but when my kids were younger and couldn't get away to the gym, I liked the firm tapes. You could vary the program by not using weights to start out with and gradually add weights as you progressed. The music isn't any good (or at least it wasn't 6-7 years ago) but the programs really gave me a workout.

Thank you so much for both of the responses! The firm tapes sound great. And yoga, is something that I've always wanted to try, but wasn't sure about. The idea of centering myself a little and letting go of some stress through that is REALLY appealing to me. I'll look into these..thanks so much!
