Pat, I saw that you work for WW and there is a new winning points program...since I do WW at home program, I am not familiar. How do I get a hold of the new stuff in my situation? WHat is it???

Thanx, Kim

Hi Kim,

It is basically the same as 123 Success, but they have reconfigured the Points to make them more accountable. For example, most veggies were zero Points; now a cup of carrots is 1 Point because of their sugar content. Also, they set limits on lowering Point values on foods containing high fiber contents. I always thought it was too good to be true that two slices of lo-cal bread could equal Zero Points because their fiber content pushed them into zero on the PointsFinder. You can still use your PointsFinder, but 4 grams of fiber is the lowest you move the slide rule to. It is still recommended to eat a high fiber diet for health and satisfaction, but we're having a reality check because high fiber doesn't "cancel out" calories. Also, there are new booklets handed out for the first 12 weeks which I think are more motivational than the 12 recipe cards from 2000.

If you follow the program at home, you will still be following the program like we are at meetings, but stop at 4 grams of fiber when calculating Points. I hope I was helpful!

I believe you can buy the new AtHome materials from weightwachers.com or the magazine, which I hope you can read free at your local library. Good luck!

Thanx Pat!

I actually get tne Mag as part of my at-home program, so I will check into the new pts slider, but you were very helpful!

Kim,
Are you pleased with the At Home program? I'm thinking about going with it in lieu of the meetings and standard membership fees, but I would like to see if you've found it worthwhile.
Thanks!

I am also a WW person. The one thing I noticed right away (in addition to increasing the points of some foods as Pat mentioned) is a decrease in the points you are allowed. The ranges are:
New Old
Under 150 18-23 18-25
150-174 20-25 20-27
175-199 22-27 22-29
200-224 24-29 24-31
225-249 26-31 26-33
Over 250 28-35
250-274 28-33
275-299 29-34
300-324 30-35
325-349 31-36
Over 350 32-37

I started in teh At Work Program but now am a regular (lifetime) member. I never heard of the At Home Program. How does it work?

Well, I paid a fee to receive the counters, materials, books, 1 yr subscription to WW mag and a few months of 800# support.

I lost 10 lbs when I was following, but have not followed very well lately and have gained 4 back. The at home program is very good for those who feel there is no time to attend meetings. I just need to get motivated to get back on track!

Jennifer

Yes, I am very happy with the At Home program....I possible dont follow it as closely as I should, but that is me. If you are very busy, I recommend it!

Thanks for the info on the at home program. It sounds pretty interesting. Also, let me apologize for the impossible to read table I tried to include with my earlier post. I was attempting to show a comparison of the old and new points. Needless to say it didn't work (after all that typing too!).
