Me? Yup. I m generally hungry whether I work out on a particular day or not, but when I take my weekly day off exercising, I do usually eat more than on the other days. I figure it s fueling up for the week ahead, and go with it!

P.S. Today is a day off. hehehehehe http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Well I eat more when I am at home. Since I currently work out of my house this is a definite problem. The ability to snack and leave my desk and find something in the kitchen is very dangerous for me.

Oops! I thought you were talking about days off work! I do eat more on days I don't work out as well though. I can't run with much in my stomach (or lift seriously either for that matter) so, I tend to eat less so I will enjoy my workouts more.

Absolutly yes.

You, know, you'd think that a tougher workout would make me eat more -- both for extra physical needs and because I felt like I could. But you're right; I definitely indulge more if I take a day off(admittedly, I hardly ever do this).

My days off are usually on Friday and Sunday. Since these are weekend days that I go out to eat on, yes, I eat more on these days.

I eat more on days I exercise. Maybe it's because I track exercise and food in my WW journal, and allow for more food on days I work out.

How timely - I seem to be having an attack of the munchies lately. I have been pretty good about nighttime snacking, but the past few days have been BAD.

My ups and downs in appetite don't seem to be related to whether I exercise or not - at least not that I've ever noticed. But I'm sure it's tied into something - hormones, mood, something...

A nutrionist told me that you will feel more hungry on days you don't excercize because your muscles are "re-feeding" themselves. In other words: THIS IS GOOD...EAT MORE.
Emilycat...I hope that you take a break sometime! Not to be intrusive but 6 days a week is the ultimate you should be training at. I have done a lot research during my training days. Please be careful and healthy! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

Star,
Not to worry, I don't think you're being intrusive...I suppose in my mind I do take days off...or at least easy days.
One day each week I do an easy 4 miler, and another day I cross-train at the gym on the bike or elliptical trainer, so I figure I'm giving my legs a break. I know it's not the same as "total rest," but sometimes it's just too difficult mentally to do that. It's an accomplishment for me to be taking one day of doing only 30 minutes of cardio http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Diona,

What did you train for? Also, can you tell us more about how much you should work out during a week?

Thanks,
Angela

It's me again! Emilycat~ I totally understand about NOT wanting to take rest days because I became a bit, shall we say obsessed with the whole thing! My life seemed to go around when my workouts would fit in my day! Unfortunately, health issues came about and I was not able to run the marathon. Angela~ it really matters what/why you are training. If you're training for a marathon there are some excellent routines that I followed that are for 6 days. These six days include speed workouts, hill workouts, cardio, long, short etc. But one day OFF. If you want to simply get in shape and be healthy, 3-6 days a week is all you need. Even just walking (at a good pace) is enough. Can I just say that you guys are the best! P.S. Angela, I think we have had and maybe still do have similar "issues" with eating and health...if you catch my drift http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif
