Hey, y'all. I don't know if you remember, but on another thread recently I had voiced my concerns that I had been suffering from a weird sort of fatigue/malaise during (and not during) my runs last weekend. Well, I started thinking--what was I doing differently? (Besides staying out and acting like a teenager last weekend). It turns out that I had been neglecting to take my multi-vitamin, which led me to investigate further--what mineral was I so deficient in that a week or so of not having my supplement would affect me so dramatically? And then I put my finger on it: IRON. My diet is so iron-deficient, it is pathetic. As soon as I started taking my vitamin again and consciously eating iron-rich food, I felt like a new person. There is an article about this dilemma in this month's Runner's World, which confirmed my suspicions as to what was wrong with me. Anyway, sorry to write a novel on this http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif but everyone eat your spinach! (Or even better, your beef if you are not a vegetarian like me).

I am also forgetful when it comes to a vitamin, and eat so little red meat that I probably am also iron deficient.

This leads me to ask....does anyone know of other vitamins or minerals which help in energy? I GO HARD all day long (1st grade teacher), and when the kids leave at 330 and I sit down, I am suddenly so tired I cant think! (let alone exercise!)

I would love to have more energy!

Help anyone????

Thanks for the info... I am so inconsistant with taking my multi-vitamin. Your difficulties encourage me to be more consistant. Glad things are better for you, Gina
