Hi! I have been posting on the Food BB for awhile and finally feel ready to come over to this one too! Like everyone else here iI am quickly finding myself becoming addicted to these BB. Everyone does sound so nice and the help and support is just wonderful!
I am a 43 year old mother of 2 girls-20 and 18. I am a substitite teacher after many years as a stay at home mum. My husband and I are very involved in track and field and are both former athletes- hurdles for me and he did the decathalon. I still run about three times a week but I have had knee surgery and so have learned to listen to my body- I rest when I need to and do non impact activites as well. I am not a long distance runner- 30 mins. at a good clip is enough for me. I love running because it can be done at the spur of the moment and is short and effective. I TRY and do weights 2-3 x a week but I have never enjoyed it- as a comprtitive athlete I know how important it is but I find it so boring! I I did aerobics for years and I still do once a week but I find I don't enjoy the gym as I once did. I love to be out in the fresh air and enjoying nature- no walkman for me!
Any way I am sure you have been over this before but I would love to hear what others do to keep fit.I am sure you are an inspiring and friendly bunch I live in Victoria, B.C. any other Canucks here?

Hi Kima and welcome! If you search this board for "HLSG" (stands for Healthy Living Support Group), you will find many threads where we have discussed our workout routines. We check in each week to discuss how we've done meeting (or not meeting http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif )our goals. If you find weight-training boring, you might want to check out our HLSG weight training challenge threads. We've been challenging each other to different exercises for different muscle groups. We have found that it's fun and motivating and has gotten us to try exercises we tend to overlook! Looking forward to your input....

Thankyou Lindrusso for the info. I did look at the HLSG threads and learned alot about everyone here. I sure don't expect people to reintroduce themselves just for me! It sure is a diverse group. One common theme seems to being finding TIME- and I can sure relate to that one! Look forward to learning and contributing more to this BB. Have a great day!
