DH and I are going in February for a few days-- we've never been to Mexico. Anything there we shouldn't miss? I read an old thread that cautioned against all the time share hawkers; thanks for the warning.

Hi Lisa, your trip sounds fun and relaxing. I don't know much about the area, other than it is much quieter than Cabo san Lucas, where I was last July. One of the things to give you a heads up on is that the taxis, particularly to and from the airport can be expensive because the taxi business is run by the Mexican Mafia. We had a really good guy from a company called Baja Wild who gave us a morning of kayak and snorkel lessons, and picked you up, and provided snacks to the tune of $55.00. We thought that it was money well spent. Here is the link:

Here's another link to your area:

Have a great trip and I'll add things as I think of them.

Be sure you go whale-watching. I've only been to the Cabo area in the summer, and didn't get to do that. Also take a 4-wheeler ride. You can see mountains, desert, and beach all in a 3 hour ride! I loved my trip to Cabo San Lucas! You might want to take a couple of rides over there while you're in San Jose. And I agree about the time share pushers. It's not worth the free meal to have to listen to them. We had one that turned to me and asked, "Is this what you signed on for when you married this man?" All because my DH told him we were not going to buy...
